Mechanisms of a playable Lupin race

Before I go on, I would like to state that there is no reason you can’t have your own personal race suggestions. Not liking one does not omit your race idea, because it is not a competition. Many in game races should be welcomed in our community. They represent the diversity, and interests of all the players. Ivalician Viera, Feol Viera, Ivalice Moogle, Ronso, Baanga, Burmecian, Hybrids, and any other ideas you may have based on your preferences are AWESOME. I really wish that all these preferences could come true, so please share your salt elsewhere. This is not that kind of thread.



Plot: The Lupin have reasons to hate Garlmald. Lupin families were killed, separated, forced into labor, and used as conscripts over seas.

They have all the makings to be a central part in the story. They also seem to not resort to summoning primals, and to want peace for the realm. There’s also enemy Lupin that resorted to looting, and banditing In a similar matter to the poachers in Gridania.

Demographic: I’m not going to avoid it. They’d appeal well to the furries. Believe it or not, but furries exist everywhere, and they are not bad people. It’s perfectly fine to fantasize about being more beastly. After all human beings in the real world are just sentient primates.

Customization options:

Hair: They’d have to have their own hair options. I hate it to say it, but most hairstyles would not be adaptable to Lupin.

Faces: They’d have several different face options like any other. Some would be fluffier, younger, older, and differently shaped.

Fur coloring: They’d have the unique option of many different fur colors. White, dark blue, grey, black, and brown colors would probably be the most common.

Eyes: eye colors would look the same as any other race.

Muscle slider: Because they’re an anthropomorphic race, a muscle slider would suit them. This option would help diversify many different playable characters.

Tails: There would be the same amount of tail options that the Miqote, and Au Ra have.

Face Paint: Just remove it, or give Lupin unique fur paint options. Furries wear makeup in a lot of depictions, but it’s not necessary.

Height: I’m not sure what the height range is, but they’d have one like any other race.

Breasts: Females would also have a breast slider like every other race.

Accessories: Earrings, and ear clasps.

Racial Gear: A dyable version of the blue yukata, and and armor gear that the common Lupin wear in Doma.

I also think that with Au Ra being directly next to them, a playable Lupin race would help establish Othard as a counterpart to Eorzea.

As for gear, and glamour, it seems like gear already fits to them. I don’t see them as being too much of a problem. The only issue would be head gear, but they wouldn’t be the first. Au Ra, Lalafell, Elezen, and Miqo’te have head gear issues. It’s not really new.

I am personally open to the idea of a more bestial race, but I do have one suggestion, no breasts. It's just thst if you want to capture the beast feel, the females shouldn't have breasts, just like a real wolf. There are otherways to distinguish the males and females.

That is a good point. The women could have a completely different shape.

Sentient just means being able to think and feel, which is something animals like cats and dogs can do. I don't think you want to be equating humans to that level.
Someone might take it as an insult, i've seen it happen.
People will roast you for calling them dumb animals, even if that's not what you intended to say.
The human ego is a great overblown and easily bruised thing that leads to great violence because so many people all think they are the best and greatest thing ever and even the slightest suggestion to the contrary will have them frothing at the mouth with psychotic rage.

The capacity for higher reasoning is called sapience...which is based on the species designation of humans "Homo Sapiens" because we are a deeply egocentric species who believe we are inherently special and that no other form of life could ever be capable of comparable level of intelligence.

I uh...don't know why furries feature so prominently in your post, but playable Lupin would be pretty cool. Definitely more imaginative and interesting than Hyur with rabbit ears Viera.
