Maybe I'm late on the train and this had already been noted, but I noticed something earlier while looking at the Bard Artifact Armor.



Either I'm crazy, or that's a sneaky little throw back to Kefka.
I hope they do more of this.

I don't know, seems like an awful lot of similarities. The red and blue leggings. Almost identical pattens on their various scarves. The two-tone feather. Even their roles are in the same sort of archetype. A crazy court mage/jester and a minstrel. "Entertainers" more or less, though Kefka isn't exactly.... ...yeah.

I'm getting heavy Kefka vibes from it either way. I think it was intentional.

Class comparisons maybe. What class was Kefka any ways? The Esper system in FFVI kind of denies being able to simply call him a Mage class. Looking at Kefka before or without magic, Bard would fit.

In that sense, it's no more 'inspiration' than the white mage artefact is a throw back to FF1

He was a mage. Magitek infusions gave him magic without having to use espers, just like Celes. But in Dissidia, he does use instruments as weapons.

Considering he used strictly magic for the most part he was a Black mage of sorts.

Not that there really were "Classes" in that game. He could use the magic without esper aid the only similarity would be he uses instruments as weapons.

BRD AF looks a lot more like a really flaming Robin Hood than Kefka.
