New Squadron Command Duties (4.3)

Been enjoying the Squadron Command Missions each patch and usually am able to clear them fairly easily, except for today... tried Brayflox HM with Ast and could not beat the final boss... the Ast just had no tools to clear the bombs away fast enough and the squadron was no help since they'd just use single target attacks. I'm sure other jobs with aoe tools will fare better, but so far it looks like Ast can't clear it with a squadron.

Good god, am I frustrated with Brayflox Hard. I have no idea what I did to clear it my first run, because it's now a stupidly large roadblock.

I'm really pissed that the tank actually knocked a bomb towards me after I knocked it away.

Oh good so it wasn't just me... Wiped like 3 times and finally quit after dying when the boss was at 3%. I don't know how to move the bombs any faster x.x

I dont even have courage to start Squadron Brayflox hard even though I enjoy Squadron command duties I will be grateful for any advice

As far as I can tell, my two clears so far have been pure luck, where the bombs were in the right pattern for me to create a small safe space. For all two/three rounds.

That's a bit too RNG reliant for my liking.

Ran into this issue myself, and on the same class even (AST). Been discovering that the tactics we're all so used to using in player groups just don't work for squadron duties, where you're the only active person there. Have to find other solutions.

In this case, I managed to beat the bomb boss by running to a spot in the outer ring. Out there, you generally only need to knock one, maybe two, bombs away to get a clear space, and there's plenty of time for simple auto attack to do that. And you just eat the boss' hits when he runs you over - using Diurnal(?) sect to allow the instant cast to give you a shield helps 'tons' with this. You take one hit, maybe two, bombs explode, you move back to the center.

It's not the damage from the boss that's the problem with sitting outside, it's the harsh knockback. If you're a brd/mch, that trick won't work.

The AI is not built to respond to this sort of stuff.

If you're a BRD/MCH, you don't need that trick. You have an AoE attack you can hit the bombs in the center with without worry.

And disengage the AI during that phase. It keeps them from hitting the bombs and keeps them in the clear spot with you.
