If i'm not mistaken, these 2 abilities appear to be the only ones that have no utility withing the current 4.X gathering nodes. I believe they work on finding seeds as well as the 3.X nodes which they were designed for but while gathering I had an idea to add to the "luck" of the ability.

Much like how their is an innate trait for shards increasing yield when gathering, it would be interesting if "Luck of the X" revealed a vein of materials in excess quantity but with half the success rate of an HQ.

Basically you achieve the requirements to activate the ability then upon activating it you reveal a a new item, say you're farming Black Willow Logs, gets the HQ chain, use the ability and now you reveal a Hardened Vet Tree Sap node but with 20 gain per attempt.(The Gather Rate would remain the same but the HQ rate would be half of it's current value so even at 100% it would start at 50% HQ rate.)

In execution I feel this would only pertain to Unspoiled nodes from all locations 2.X, 3.X and 4.X + but the overall idea is to bring more incentive into building up your perception by using it as another modifier to increase the quantity of materials you can obtain
