Heaven forbid people actually have to choose what content they want to prioritize.

Choice also only works well when you think of individual people (and as Sendohjin pointed out, when content gives similar prizes, the choice becomes illusionary as people will go for what gives the best reward).

But when you think of a community. Well maybe I want to do Eureka, but my friends want to do HoH.
Maybe some elite raiders want to go straight for UwU, while others would have liked to farm the EX trial first.
Especially for uwu, it means that people who want who aren't trying ultimate but want to watch the world race (and it can be difficult to watch while trying to do your own stuff) had the chance to get their other goals done beforehand, increasing the ability to enjoy the spectacle.

By spacing things out, it gives people who play together something to focus on without having to worry about their individual preferences.
