Can we let people decide that instead of telling them? Otherwise it looks more like a thinly veiled attempt to keep people subbed.
If you think so, that's certainly your opinion.
However, I think those players would only have had maybe 1-2 days of extra game time added from this because they would do it once, then immediately want the next piece of content.

And this tuesday there is the new ultimate, which will take a while to beat.

That isn't overselling WoW nor did I imply it's perfect. They simply do repetition better hence why people keep asking for Mythic+ styled dungeons here. Obviously, improvements can be made but at least we'd have dungeons that engaged better than "pull trash that barely does damage and aoe them all down."

And if you aren't interested in primarily battle content, WoW probably isn't the game for you. I don't recall it advertising itself otherwise.

Eureka says otherwise. Sure, people voiced displeasure over it to an extent, but it remains active even now.

And Ultimate is only content for the bleeding edge. Considering less than 10% of the playerbase have killed God Kefka, significantly less can or will challenge Ultimate. I mean, I'm set since I'll be doing just that, and I craft. But I can't begrudge people being a little annoyed over HoH's delay.

don't forget that they added a whole page of new fish :O

    yess

to everyone out there who has nothing to do and needs more content: you can always start fishing and go for all the 170 big fish. sure it is cheaply made content locked behind a boatload of RNG - but catching the fish is content \^^/

You stated it lasts longer because it's largely combat focused.

That's overselling it for one simple reason - if you got tokens and such the way we do, that combat content wouldn't last nearly as long as it does. RNG on stats on gear that drops, mixed with RNG influencing the ilvl of said gear, is what keeps it from being "finished until the next patch" as quickly.

Also, I said nothing about those not primarily having an interest in battle content having nothing to do, but rather that if you're not interested in two specific forms of battle content (mythic dungeons and raiding) that you get little in the way of content - less even than we do.

There's to say that their content is far more daily locked than ours. Imagine trials having a 1 day lockout for example. Now mythic+ aren't really locked but the reason most ppl run mythic+ is to get loot which is the RNG you speak of, since you have to hope the item you wish drops, that it titaforges more than the one you have, that it has a socket and that it has a tertiary stat if you wish so.
When factoring all of this it's probably even worse than 24 man loot right now, I don't remember how many items drops from 1 mythic run, but really that's the gist of it. That content is made to be run counteless times and the same goes for world quest too or it was during launch.

That aside frankly this argument is extremely opinion based, ppl that have much more free time will have an extremely different opinion on the amount of content as such both wiews have grounds

There's plenty to do. There's just little you personally want to do.

I don't own SB and yet I still have plenty to do when I log in. Beast Tribe quests, leves and FATES for leveling my alt jobs. The Hunt for seals to buy ventures or Aetheryte tickets. Treasure Hunts trying to get those rare crafting materials that only come out of the treasure chests. Gold Saucer. Gathering and crafting. Gardening. Redecorating house/apt/FC room when I feel the desire or when friends ask me to decorate their houses for them. I don't touch PvP and PotD or I'd have even more to do.

Content doesn't grow on trees. It does take time and effort to create. If you only want new content to do, you're always going to end up disappointed.

I won't talk about WoW Legion, since I haven't played it enough to have a solid opinion of it.

However this is a fact that S.E. decided to delay content so that players stay in the game, and this is really not a good thing. This is purely an artificial increase of the lifespan of the patch.

But what's really bothering me, is that they are treating players more and more like kids who can't behave themselves.

Gear with interesting stats or skills? : "To complex, players won't get it"
Parsers? : "They are to immatures, they will fight if we let them have this"
Full patch on release? : "They will just rush it. We need to let them do the patch at the speed we want".

Now, I do not know the average age of the player-base, but I will take a wild guess and say that the large majority of us are mature enough to gauge how much we want to play at a game. To spread the patch like that is just ridiculous.

I used to think like that too, but after 3 years on repeat mode, and seeing that patchs get thinner and thinner or just spread out, I started to burn-out on this. I just hope that 5.0 will shake things up enough so that you don't end up feeling the same way.

You misunderstand as well, as I responded prior I'm talking about this latest patch not the game itself. The game has plenty of content for people who haven't been playing for years. While this patch has been released with nothing but weekly content that takes approx 1-3hours per week to complete, as well as the fact that they've locked the actual content people want in the 4.3x patches. Did you even read the topic?

And honestly? There's very little I haven't done in the game at this point and the thing I mainly wanted to do I now feel the need to wait because of HoH coming out sometime in the next 2 months.

It doesn't matter how much content is added at once. It's always the same idea of "take time off of work, rush all the content on the first day, complain there is nothing to do on day 2."

People make it their goal to do the content as fast as possible. They could release all the content that will ever be in Stormblood, at the expansions release, and in a week people will complain about nothing to do.

Don't take offense, but you are simply setting up yourself for disappointement
