Few things are more irritating in this game than being excited before and immediately after a fresh content patch only to be dragged down by those who have nothing but bad things to say about the game. It's reasonable to have some complaints about the game even as a devoted fan - yet I have zero tolerance for those who force themselves to play yet constantly bash the game and those who still enjoy it at every possible turn. I've distanced myself from a handful of friends for precisely that reason. Having them log on to rant about the state of the game became very troublesome.
Very reasonable, indeed. And something I could agree with. FFXIV isn't a perfect game by any means, but once one finds that there are more negatives than positives, it might be good to join others to unsub between patch cycles (or even two or three) and then comes back so the grind/world feels refreshing again. Good post.
