I disagree, but not in a disrespectful way. I mean, sure, if one has a habit of getting habitually angry all the time, that's one thing. But games in which competition is present, I'd say it's fairly normal if one gets angry. CoD, OW, LoL, Smite, those are just some examples that come to mind.

And before someone asks me why i know that's a sign of mental instability, I know because I've been there myself a few years ago.
I did that to my best friend recently, except it wasn't mental instability. It was a simple case of burnout and needing a change of games. When you're unhappy and playing out of habit or obligation, little things that wouldn't normally bother you become giant mountains of seething rage. That's when it's time to go play something else for a while.

Sometimes people just can't see for themselves that they need a break, and it takes a nudge.

This thread in particular doesn’t have anything to do with my previous threads – at all.

No, I'm sorry, but I do not believe this in the slightest. All of your recent threads end up being connected to one another, Kaiva, and all of them are seeking some sort of validation on behalf of the forum members. These are not innocent discussion questions that have no other motive to them considering your forum post history, things you've said in comments past, recent events of transferring your main character (again) and changing their name all because you butted heads with people who disagreed with the premise of your last topic,, and deleting your old discord. I don't believe that for a second.

As I said before, you need to take several steps back, several deep breaths, and just leave this game alone for a time. Breaks do wonders, and this game clearly isn't doing you any favors right now. But I don't expect you'll actually listen to this advice and take a step back. Just like you've never heeded any of my advice in the past. Call me salty, but I have gotten a little tired of trying to help you, and you just completely ignoring any and all things I say.

This topic is like creating another thread and asking if it’s ok for people to beat their pet. It’s a little obvious and sounds like you are trying to get attention ....

He didn't delete his character. He name changed and transferred servers.

Now do we need yet another slant towards parsers? For once you actually had a decent argument but just had to slam parsers which has virtually nothing to do with the topic.

That is a not so great analogy to use...but understandable. That being said, if there were personal reasons behind my post, I would have shared it. I've made some posts in the past that don't have personal experiences in them - yeah, lately, I have made some personal posts that honestly don't belong on the forums, but this is not one of them. Again, I am just asking some general thoughts on the topic, seeing other people's experiences about the subject. Nothing more.

Like I stated above, this topic doesn't really draw on anything in particular that happened to me. My reasoning for moving my main and what I've done to my discord are matters that have little to do with the forums and why I did it isn't really as important. I did what I did for a reason. But that's the last topic, not the one we're currently on. I have nothing but praise for you and many others who I have known outside of the forums, so no, you aren't in the wrong about the response you made a while ago. But again, and I cannot stress this enough, nothing happened that prompted me to spawn this current topic.

On your last response, and apologies that I did not respond to it earlier, I do agree about whether it is affecting their health/welfare, etc. If FFXIV is affecting a player in a way that it is affecting them in those areas, perhaps it would be a good idea to take a break.

If you get overly offended someone tells you to stop playing the game, maybe you should. Since CLEARLY you're taking the game way too seriously and need a break.

And it would be perfectly justified to tell someone to stop playing if they spend 3 days in a row running lighthouse desperately trying to get a piece of loot...

Yeah, it can be justified in certain cases.

Few things are more irritating in this game than being excited before and immediately after a fresh content patch only to be dragged down by those who have nothing but bad things to say about the game. It's reasonable to have some complaints about the game even as a devoted fan - yet I have zero tolerance for those who force themselves to play yet constantly bash the game and those who still enjoy it at every possible turn. I've distanced myself from a handful of friends for precisely that reason. Having them log on to rant about the state of the game became very troublesome.

The only time I can see telling someone to outright quit was if you knew them and it seemed like the game was causing too much stress and anxiety.

Very reasonable, indeed. And something I could agree with. FFXIV isn't a perfect game by any means, but once one finds that there are more negatives than positives, it might be good to join others to unsub between patch cycles (or even two or three) and then comes back so the grind/world feels refreshing again. Good post.
