For AST I think I would really really like if they could somehow do something about Collective Unconscious server tick issues, but since all the game's HoTs and mitigation like CU and Sacred Soil basically work on server ticks I doubt it would be doable...but I can hope ><
I really hate sitting there channeling like a dope on AST waiting up to 3s for CU to proc...also makes it hard to use for the 10% mitigation since sometimes you try to use it with plenty of time to spare and it likely didn't even get on in time for the hits :/

It does. If you run into it right after the server tick you won't get it until the next server tick. It's annoying. Every thing with a field that applies a buff seems to work the same way. (i.e the barrier made by the Spiny Plume in Garuda EX is the same)
Think of it ticking like a regen, but instead it applies a buff instead. So if you miss the tick you have to wait for the next one. Sometimes you get lucky and you ran into it 1 second before the tick so you get it immediiately other times you have to wait a couple seconds to get it.
More annoying for AST since they can't do anything with the shield up. At least SCH can do other things.

I feel like Selene needs more oomph or something. Why not an ability that allows sch to bring out double fairy for the meter thing? I shrug. Just some suggestions.
Didnt they do something similar to the NIN mudras ay some point where they became far more responsive? Couldn't they apply the same to buffs that require server ticks? I'm tired of HG failing me when I decide to cut it really close :]

If I remember correctly that was an animation lagtime issue, similar to the infamous DRG Jumps. The issue with CU and others is a different beast altogether, because it's not to do with the abilities themselves but with the way the game client interacts with the servers. And it's my understanding (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that it was designed thus to enable multiplatform support. I imagine if they could have changed it when they stopped supporting PS3, they would have.
