    5.0 Job change wishlist

    Wondering now that we are a little more than half way into Stormblood, I wanted to see what people were wanting from the 5.0 upgrade to their preferred job. Just a for fun wishlist to see how people would like their Job to look and feel.

    PLD - I'd like to have Offensive use for the Oath gauge. A skill like that has a field effect to increase healing spells potency. For the love of Hydalyn can I get a gap closer!

    Meltdown as an AoE for SCH. Not sure if I want it as another AoE DoT or a spamable spell, but it has to fit with our kit so as not to cripple us. Maybe not even on the GCD, but a 20-30second cooldown. I'd suggest Aetherflow, but I'd feel at that point we'd need a few more stacks to play with.

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    AST: some new DPS moves!! I'm so bored of only casting Malific!!! I want stella back :'( oh and an AOE DoT spell

    SMN: New Egis, of course. But also something or anything to make my DoTs more interesting than just something I have to re-do every minute or whatever.

    Eh, keep dreaming.... the best thing we can hope for is that they'll actually get Egi glamours underway and improve the Egis we already have so they are actually useful. I just can't bring myself to hope for anything more, and even then I'll probably be disappointed.
    And yes, it would be nice if the DoT felt more impactful again; I've always seen them as enablers of sorts, things I have to keep up for my pets to interact with. That was before they removed the old contagion (which was ironically the only pet-ability that actually interacted with SMNs kit, and yet everyone cried to get it removed while simultaneously complaining how useless pets are) and allowed Fester to generate dreadwyrm stacks without actually doing damage, of course...

    I guess fixes I'd like for SMN:
    - Split the pets into Single target, AOE, and Tank (As I want them to get egi glamours on the road too, I'll just call the Egi's ST-Egi, AOE-Egi and Tank-Egi here)
    - Turn Pet abilites into Enkindle-like abilites, to make the next point possible
    - Make Aetherflow abilities into Pet abilites: ST-Egi gets Fester and a new Contagion, AOE-Egi a festerfied Painflare and Bane, Tank-Egi gets a damage-sharing defensive move and and a slightly buffed Energy Drain; they'd obviously still generate Dreadwyrm Aether
    - To improve pet skill usability, make Ruin-spells procc pet 'autoattacks'; they can't que an autoattack up that isn't entirely automatic, and if theres nothing queued up nothing stops them from using their petskills
    - Make pet autoattacks have different effects per pet: ST-Egi does a simple damaging move, Tank-Egi gets raised Emnity (duh), and AOE-Egi essentially replaces Tri-Bind by turning your ruin casts into AOE
    - Aetherflow is now a ressource for certain pet abilites (not much of a change here)

    With these changes Egi's essentially turn into tooboxes to be pulled out depending on situation; like they should be, imo. When I think 'Summoner' I think of a mage who analyzes the situation and summons whatever pet he deems appropriate; usually based of off elemental weakness, but since we don't have those, so encounter type/fight phase seems like the next best equivalent.
    The changes would also ensure that the 'playstyle' stays mostly the same; you still DoT up the enemies and use Aetherflow abilites, with DWT and Bahamut-phases in between. But more streamlined, and pets would be more impactful instead of just... there.

    Other things that may work/would be interesting/QOL:
    - ...Bahamut-Enkindle now works off of the normal enkindle button; like, why is this not a thing? Didn't they want to simplify?
    - Enkindle now gives Dreadwyrm Aether (or Bahamut Stacks and is usable under DWT); just to make the pets more involved in the process of summoning Bahamut)
    - Make Deathflare into what happens if summoners try to enkindle without a pet out (only if Enkindle gives Bahamut Stacks (not sure about this one, might be a dumb idea))
    - Bahamut is now targetable and 'inherits' the enmity of whatever pet was out before him; or he just straight up 'absorbs' half of the SMNs enmity, just something to make him usable in solo situations.
    - Some sort of Summoner-themed general-use Debuff to make up for any lost utility skills; make it spreadable by Bane. Would still fit the theme of the Summoner supporting/enabling the pets while also providing utility
    - Sustain now transfers part of SMNs enmity to the pet in addition to healing it
    - a new Skill that absorbs part of the pets HP to regenerate the SMNs MP (used in tandem with the above change to sustain this opens up a Cross-role slot, since Lucid Dreaming wouldn't be as necessary anymore)
    - probably tons of other stuff i can't think of right now xD

    - no CD on Draw for Trial/Raid before the fight.
    - Nocturnal Stance removed or really upgraded this time (no the shield, but abilities tied to it : CO, IC, TD, etc) ?
    - Trap card when ?
    - Why AST doesn't attack automatically by throwing cards ?
    - When could we use the dual disk ?
    - Draw of Destiny : a new ability (120 sec cd) which let us draw the card we want (especially for plan Bole in fight, but useful too for Ewer, Balance).
    - Shooting Star : a new random and/or ability to plan (180 sec) : sacrifice all your cards (more cards sacrificed, effect more powerful) and a random effect will occur among Dark Hole (big aoe damage), Star Rain (big aoe heal), Nebula (all cards effect on teamate).

    - AST: I'd like to get Disable back (for PvE). Maybe have the ability tweaked to be more effective.
    - AST: For Crown of Lords to have more potency considering it can't be spammed like gravity or malefic
    - BRD: High level aoe DoT ability like Blood Rain but with status debuffs... like burn (fire arrows). I still don't understand why bard doesn't have a fire arrow/burn DoT when that was a standard practise in warfar.

    Hell no. I like AST being adaptable. I will agree that noct sect could be improved, though. (Edit: I honestly think Time Dilation and Celestial opposition are fine as they are in both sects (they're identical in both sects), like how Collective unconscious now is. No idea what you mean by IC, though. Even looked up the skill list just to make sure I wasn't missing something, and nope... no idea. XD)

    The resource gauges are just groundwork for future ability addition. Tanks will probably have more abilities relying on their respective resource gauges, DPS will likely wind up with more interaction with their respective gauges, and healers should (at least hopefully) have actual interaction with their gauges (especially WHM, who also needs a gauge component for PI stacks).

    I would like a couple of changes to my favorite jobs in 5.0

    1.) Red Mage:
    • Increase the proc ver-spell Potencies. I don't feel that Proc spells should be weaker than the regular ver-spells.
    • *More support magic like perhaps temper (increasing the target damage, while also increasing your weaponskill damage.)
    • Increase the duration of Embolden
