[Suggestion] Make "remove from friends list" 2-way

My suggestion would be to make the removal of a friend two-way, as in... if you remove a friend from your list, you'd automatically be removed from their list as well.

Completely agree, a game that requires both parties to agree before they can be added to each other's Friends list should remove that connection as soon as both parties don't agree.

I transferred from Balmung to Cerberus for roughly five months. The servers are on completely different Datacentres. When I transferred back to Balmung I was shocked to find out that I was still on some people's friend lists. I simply showed up as 'Unable to Retrieve' during my absence but as soon as I returned everything was back in place. Given that one of my reasons for my break was due to not wanting any communication with certain players it was a rather unpleasant experience.

This is a different situation. Perhaps in your particular case, you moved servers to get away from certain people, but it's far from the only reason people switch servers. Some people move in spite of still having good friends on their old server, because they think another will be more crowded, or less crowded, or they also have other friends on the new one. And a very common reason (I'd suspect the most common reason) for people to later move back to their original server is when they miss the old friends they had there. If SE can maintain Friends lists through server transfers, that's a good thing overall.

My EB partner and I broke up and I removed him from my list. However, I am still on his. Despite asking to be removed, he will not remove me. I don't like that I'm still on his list where he can see where I am, what I'm doing but there's nothing I can do about it.

Recently had a falling out with a group of friends, in which one of them 'keeps track' of people their group has had trouble with by keeping them on their friends list, and then proceed to make snide comments on their appearance/search info/location/etc in their discord. It's not SE's responsibility to police things said outside of the game obviously, but it's still a moral dilemma and a form of stalking/defamation of character.

If I blacklist someone, I don't want them to even see if I'm online.

Yeah, it's 2018 - this sort of privacy feature should be a given (along with an Invisible setting, but that's another subject).
Adding a friend to Friend List is a mutual thing. If the mutual part is removed on one end it should mutually be removed on the other.
