It probably sounds like a really minor, really silly reason to quit, but if job balance continues to be so skewed and balance changes taking months to years, with some just being pushed to the next expansion, I can see myself quitting.
We've had the same Ninja+ Dragoon+ two ranged physical meta for all of HW and now seemingly all of SB with Summoner just barely creeping up.
Tank balance is still a mess and DARK won't be fixed until 6 months or the next expansion, and healers were doing good until these recent AST changes, which now sees things going in a similar direction to 3.4...
I understand there's no such thing as perfect balance, but this has just been an ongoing thing with no meaningful change in sight.
If they change up the way they do things too much. I honest like how things are set up here, not all changes are good changes. Other then that? When I get bored of playing is when I'll stop.
I'm already kind of there. My interest has been waning with each patch, culminating in getting bored within 3 days of 4.3. The job inbalances, clumsy decisions, sparse content spread across several months, the formulaic design, the Mogstation money grubbing; not enough pros to outweigh the increasing cons and sense of stagnation.
HoH and the Emissary of the Dawn ending are the only things keeping my toe in the water, so I guess depending on what we see next I'll be in or out. If it's more of what we've had 4.0, I'll probably be done.
To make me quit they'd need to go f2p, reduce patch cycles, go p2w (somehow), end the game, or make a new (and better) final fantasy mmo
I only have an active account encase I want Fanfest tickets. If I end up not going and the next expansion doesn't look like it's doing anything new I think I'm done.
I would be fine quitting now honestly. But I foolishly bought a house for me and my girlfriend (who has also gotten bored and stopped playing) so I'm basically just resubbing every 40 days ish to keep the house in case we ever start playing together again. Pretty crazy when you think about it, I'm paying for a house in a game I don't play. Ingenious idea from them though.
If they ever wreck NIN. What they did to DRK with SB almost drove me away, but if they ever do the same to NIN that will be it for me.
If they go Free2Play, or inject SJW Feminism crap into the game like Battlefield V seems to be doing. I just want to have a fun game, not to see it get filled with political correctness horseshit xD
