    Oh, yeah, I remember that jerk.

    Ironically, it's once he stops using fancy dodgeable attacks and focuses on just auto-attacks and Rage of Halone that you're likely to die. I got around it by swapping to Ironworks Fending Accessories for the increased health. That increases the echo healing you get, so you can survive a few more hits. Combined with a stock of HQ max potions and I got through. Eventually.
