I want my voice!

When we first make our character; we get the option to select our voice.

Then as we play the game, all we get to hear our voice beeing used to do, is scream in fights.

Why even give us a voice if we cant actually get to hear it, even if only in a few select CS, or similar? It really boggles my mind as to why SE would even give us that option during char.creation when throughout the entiretly of the game, we never ever actually use it to actually speak. It seems to me it would be alot easier to just remove that bit in char. creation to start with then.

Are you going to pay each and every actor their dues to voice every cutscene they decide to voice, every grunt, every yell, every dialogue choice? Lets see there are about 8 voice options in the game, per sex, not counting the switches that might occur between a few races, so that 16 voices. There are 4 languages that the game is made in/for, so that number raises to 64. Thats a lot of people to pay for doing some a few cutscenes here and there. It's just easier to get a few people, possibly even some of the dev staff, to do a few groans and grunts for our character.

not gonna happen. Character voices are the same across all 4 language versions, and I assume that most, if not all, were done by Japanese (there are a few well known voice actors amongst them, like voice 1 for female Roes & Higlanders is Yuu Kobayashi, and voice 3 for female Miqo'te is Yukari Tamura for example)
Also we never got any new voiced emotes, so it's entirely possible that some of those actors are no longer available for some reason or another

i already do via my paying for the entire game through my sub.
I dont care who SE pays or not for it, I'd rather have a hearable voice in some (not even all) CS, or that they just remove the option entirely.

Not difficulty to solve. Just put 4 actors for warrior of light male voice on the 4 languages and do the same with the female, so we got 4 actress. And then we use the voice option on game just for emotes. And people need to stop saying ''not gonna happen'' for good idead and things that be a must on every RPG. Bye.

Of course it would be great to have some voices in the cutscenes, but obviously this isn't practical without greatly reducing the number of voices, and I personally wouldn't want the 'customisation' to be restricted anymore than it already is.

You don't really get to decide where your sub money is going to, it's simply used to develop FFXIV and other SE games.

If they were to decide to add voice lines for the player character, that'd take resources away from actual content, since resources (both money, and time) are finite.

exactly, just as you dont know what your sub money goes to, neither do I, but im pretty sure that SE can afford to pay their VAs.
