cause jobs meant for dd would be so much better at itYou have a bit of an issue there. If classes are made more solo oriented and jobs are for partying... then what stops classes (which would have to be stronger for soloing) from partying? Well an issue if you look at it as parties from a ffxi standpoint where mobs actually take some time and a bit of strategy to kill (pre spam fest).
Having jobs that are the "foundation" of classes seems sort of backwards to me.. the more people talk about it (granted it is all speculation at this point anyways), the more it seems like they are half assing it. Of course i still don't understand how a gladiator can only use a sword.. but i guess that's more of a hang up on my end.
The armory system sounded great, but as soon as i played it i hated it. Being able to customize your character fully takes away the pride of being any specific class/job/whatever the hell they want to call it. So now you'll have a class that you can unlock with your job... that is going to be the same level as your job? I hope its better than it sounds and what people are speculating, but i know its not.
I'm really beginning to hate game developers. They make a final fantasy title... but rip out all of what made the previous final fantasy mmo great.. but kept the races and changed the names. Now they are trying to add that back. And i haven't even had the erge to login, the game bores me. Though that is likely as i don't have a shell, and partying is non existant.
And back on my hating game developers.. i got my tribes ascend beta... its alot like this game. Looks like the previous, plays sorta like it. But its missing the soul of what made that game great. Granted going f2p to money farm the title isn't helping.
imo classes should be pretty = in damage and defense, then when you switch to you job damage and def go up and down depending on party role.
this would make classes obsolete in any party role, which is the point
