You don't know the problems with the job system. Unless you're part of the QA team, in which case, give us the infos.
yes i do. The prob with it is the classes they stem from which are in game now. I know that glad can tank just fine but is not a good DD. if the job system is party and class is solo then that is a problem. Glad stats need to be changed for a solo DD role so that when it switches to pld it is a tank. This is obvious
srsly, what is the point of a tank becoming a tank, lol
there is no need to tank solo so why would glad remain a tank class after 1.21
hopefully the devs are already aware of this situation and make proper class adjustments to make the classes more solo oriented

You have a bit of an issue there. If classes are made more solo oriented and jobs are for partying... then what stops classes (which would have to be stronger for soloing) from partying? Well an issue if you look at it as parties from a ffxi standpoint where mobs actually take some time and a bit of strategy to kill (pre spam fest).yes i do. Having jobs that are the "foundation" of classes seems sort of backwards to me.. the more people talk about it (granted it is all speculation at this point anyways), the more it seems like they are half assing it. Of course i still don't understand how a gladiator can only use a sword.. but i guess that's more of a hang up on my end.
The armory system sounded great, but as soon as i played it i hated it. Being able to customize your character fully takes away the pride of being any specific class/job/whatever the hell they want to call it. So now you'll have a class that you can unlock with your job... that is going to be the same level as your job? I hope its better than it sounds and what people are speculating, but i know its not.
I'm really beginning to hate game developers. They make a final fantasy title... but rip out all of what made the previous final fantasy mmo great.. but kept the races and changed the names. Now they are trying to add that back. And i haven't even had the erge to login, the game bores me. Though that is likely as i don't have a shell, and partying is non existant.
And back on my hating game developers.. i got my tribes ascend beta... its alot like this game. Looks like the previous, plays sorta like it. But its missing the soul of what made that game great. Granted going f2p to money farm the title isn't helping.
cause jobs meant for dd would be so much better at itYou have a bit of an issue there. imo classes should be pretty = in damage and defense, then when you switch to you job damage and def go up and down depending on party role.
this would make classes obsolete in any party role, which is the point
to expand
think of this
in a solo play situation max dd isnt always what you want, or whatever your job may be
a gladiator is a tank usualy, make him a paladin he goes pure tank, and while in party play this is ideal, in solo play this may reduce his damage enough, minus his healing abilities as a gladiator he may use and other sub abilities, to the point where he cant solo
a white mage would probly also suck for solo play where as a conj can use thm nukes....
so yes, classes are the basis for solo play and small group play, where jobs, are gonna be great for party play where you want more defined roles since you have up to 7 other people backing you up

They did say that there will be times when the class will be more useful than the job in parties depending on the fight. Paladin may be the tank job, but that doesn't mean it's going to be better than gladiator for every fight. Also, giving gladiator dmg abilities means giving paladin dmg abilities. Lets not forget balance.....well DK would be the DPS not glad. Glad needs to made a dps for its olo role imo. PLD=tank Glad should =dps
that's the problem with job system why have pld as party tank when glad is already a good tank. Glad needs to be made a worse tank and better DD to make the job system "party play" make sense.
All I know is...
....that it's been very amusing reading some peoples' posts; acting like they know 100% of all the "granularities" of how the class/job system will work come 1.21 - that they can identify with nearly absolute certainty the good, bad, and so-so aspects of the system - despite the fact that we all only have fairly minimal/basic/surface information about it.
So, a very humble thank you for starting my Friday night with many good laughs!![]()
