for start off, do not reply to this thread if you are just going to belittle me by saying "its simple math blah blah blah" or "get gud" this thread is for those who legit have a issue for the fight to show theres alot of us who simply can't do it

okay i do no think this math mechanic is acceptable, for people with some sorta thinking disability this mechanic is far too difficult and stressful for people who have some sort of disability and leaves me feeling pretty awful about myself after doing the raid and i am sure i'm not the only one, i've tried a chart and 10 seconds isn't enough time to figure it out, it puts pressure on me and i kinda lock up like i did back when i used to go to school

this mechanic needs to change or be removed and we should never see a mechanic like this in the game again

I agree that this isn't right, while I dont mind mathemathics for core game mechanics & gameplay roots for stats, I on the opposite side dont like mathemathics, in an active game like this I think its a low blow.

Okay so I never did this fight before, but I did look up a Youtube video...


You are working with single numbers and you are told to either divide by 3, 4, or 5 or make your number a Prime Number and there's four numbers (1 through 4).

Obviously, the primes are 1, 7 and 11.

Divide by 3:

3, 6, 9, 12

Divide by 4:

4, 8, 12

Divide by 5:

5, 10

It's...... really that simple.

When he applies your debuff, look down at your number. You have about 3 seconds before he tells you what he wants.

When he goes "Divide by..."

Subtract your HP from the next highest divisible. That's all you need to do.

For example if he says "Divide by 5" and you have HP of 7... you need to go to 10. 10-7=3. Jump in the #3 circle. He gives you nearly 10 seconds to do this.

Surely you can work out a single digit number in ~13 seconds? You can do half of the calculation before he even tells you what to do. In fact, you can start on the calculations before he says what he wants:

Example: Your HP is 4.

Divide by 3? I need to step on 2 (4+2=6)
Divide by 4? Don't step on anything.
Divide by 5? I need to step on 1 (4+1=5)
Prime? I need to step on 3 (4+3=7)

I could probably do half of that before he tells me what he wants.

Does failing it even kill you? All I’ve seen it do is drop your HP a little further but in the end you still rely on your healers to heal you up before he AoEs. I think the only thing you miss is a damage buff, and even that hardly matters cause all his other AoE nonsense is likely to kill you.

I struggle with the math part too, but not because of the math.

The mechanic is actually pretty hard to follow. First time (going blind) I didn't even know our HPs were supposed to be used in the equation. That's how unclear the mechanic was from the start. They should maybe call attention to that more.

The second part of it, is in the way the question is asked. It is a convoluted way of basically saying "add this" or "subtract this." Having to think subtract/add when he's telling you to divide... I can see that being extremely hard for some people. Division/multiplication is probably the hardest part of basic math that people struggle with.

The third part of it, is that it's all in flying text, which a lot of the times I completely ignore. Usually because it's irrelevant jibberjabber from NPCs. The game has kind of trained me to ignore that stuff.

Add (sorry) to all of that, someone's difficulty with math, and you end up with one confusing round of "what the hell am I doing?"

That being said, I've only run the raid twice. So I don't think they should remove the mechanic. But maybe next time they can think on ways to make it easier to follow. And possibly this go around, make the penalty less severe on failure.

I believe you take more damage from the raid buster from what I have observed you can still survive if you are healed to full hp. If i see someone that failed the mechanics i use a buff on them Palisade.

But everyones brain works differently
Some can't get it right away and it might even make them feel bad they cant get it.

Your in a 24 man raid situation and your one of the only ones to fail the "simple" mechanic how does that make you feel.
Its disheartening for some...

Honestly I am more disheartening by the parties that are unable to stand still in pads at The Labirinth of Ancients, which is a pretty hard mechanic, right?
