Is just simple 1 digit math.... And before anyone says "but i have to dodge or do other stuff while doing math so is too hard" please stop, you can literally stop dpsing and just do the math. Im no genius i just count with my fingers![]()

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Are you serious? By your logic every single boss should just be a punching bag that takes no action at all because there's always going to be someone with a disability that makes it hard for them to cope with mechanics.okay i do no think this math mechanic is acceptable, for people with some sorta thinking disability this mechanic is far too difficult and stressful for people who have some sort of disability and leaves me feeling pretty awful about myself after doing the raid and i am sure i'm not the only one, i've tried a chart and 10 seconds isn't enough time to figure it out, it puts pressure on me and i kinda lock up like i did back when i used to go to school
this mechanic needs to change or be removed and we should never see a mechanic like this in the game again
please vote by posting in this thread and liking my comment, this is not acceptable SE, why you do dis?
What other garbage? For the entirety of the calculation phase the boss literally does nothing but stand there. There's no healing to be done, no AoEs to dodge, and there's no DPS check that means you can't break off and go stand in the proper circle for a moment.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

If you feel bad for feeling like you're getting belittled for struggling with the math mechanic
Just remember, the majority's brains stop working when it comes to Sweep the Leg. :P
Basically, sure this mechanic might be simple to some people but that doesn't apply for everyone. There will be some who struggle with this, but I'm sure that there are people who always have at least one mechanic they really struggle with. I get that it's pretty hard, but I don't think it means the mechanic should be taken out.
thanks for explaining, but theres no way i'm going to remember all that, like i said before, i got a learning disability, its like telling you to play with only one of your hands, lets see how difficult that would be for you
i have straight died after failing the two questions, so yes, i think you can die from this, and one of my characters main jobs is healer, my other character's main job is dps, but i'll be making my first character DPS so atleast i feel like less of a burden to my partyDoes failing it even kill you? All I’ve seen it do is drop your HP a little further but in the end you still rely on your healers to heal you up before he AoEs. I think the only thing you miss is a damage buff, and even that hardly matters cause all his other AoE nonsense is likely to kill you.

You don't need to remember it.
Get a piece of paper. Write the following on it:
Prime: 5, 7, 11
3s: 3, 6, 9, 12
4s: 4, 8, 12
5s: 5, 10
Tape it to your monitor, lean it up against something, whatever.
When your HP gets reduced, look at your HP (you have 3 seconds to do this). When he asks for a multiple, look at your piece of paper. Pick the next highest number from the correct row (depending on what he asked you for). Subtract your HP from that (you get 10 seconds to do that).
BINGO.
All you need to do is find the correct row, do one Greater Than, and 1 subtraction.
Example:
Your HP gets reduced to 5.
He tells you that he wants a multiple of 4.
On the 4s row, you see that the next highest is 8. 8 minus 5 is 3. Stand on 3.
EDIT: ALTERNATIVELY, you could count on your fingers too if you can't do subtraction.
Example: You get reduced to 4 and he tells you that he wants a multiple of three.
Look at the 3s row, you see the next up is 6.
You have 4, right?
4, 5, 6. There we go. You're holding 2 fingers up. Stand on 2.

I do that whenever I get phonecalls midfight. It's inconvenient as hell.
If it's really that upsetting, then print off a grid of numbers. One for your HP, one for the stat he calls. And then mark which numbers you need to go to for the mechanic.

I don't get how failing THIS mechanic out of the whole game can make you so embarrassed. You get ridiculed for standing in AOEs, messing up your rotation, doing crap dps, not doing enough healing, tanking in tank stance etc. But math in this game is what ruins people's morale so much? Who cares? Let it roll off your shoulders and do better next time.
But then again, this is coming from a tank main. Even if I do get both consecutive questions wrong I'll still survive. Which I honestly wish wasn't the case. I want to get punished just as hard as everyone else.
its not being embarrassed at all, typically i can handle people saying stuff to me pretty well, but when i fail at something like math i kinda beat myself up over it, i feel like i've become a burden to my party, especially if i am playing healer at the time which won't be the case for this raid soon, my redmage is almost level 70 and then i'll just DPS this raid on both my charactersI don't get how failing THIS mechanic out of the whole game can make you so embarrassed. as someone who actually did do deltascape savage 1 and 2 without much issue, i can say i do like that there are mechanics on bosses, some mechanics are really fun to do, but really, this is a test of brain power and i personally think games should be fun, not a math test

Im sorry you and other people have an issue with this mechanic. I disagree with taking the mechanic out though. No mechanics should be taken out, we have too few interesting mechanics to deal with as it is. Every mechanic(even simple things like "dont stand in the fire") has some people who cant consistently get it. You can still see your groups HP totals after he uses Subtract, so its possible to try to copy what someone else does if you cant calculate on the fly. And the big hit after is survivable even if you failed to compute. Get topped off and throw down a shield and youll make it through(along with anyone else in your group who made a similar error).
