This all day. If you can’t miss one day, you may have an addiction issue....I love when people cry over one day of not being able to play the game. That's a sign you really should consider getting some outside hobbies. Spend some time with family, friends. Clean up the place. Play another game that's been collecting dust. Go on a hike. Sleep all day and bask in the glory that is a comfortable bed.
As someone who works in IT, I can sympathize with SE for occasions where the maintenance lasts a little longer than usual.
As long as they manage a large amount of uptime (Which they do, I feel), it's not a huge deal for me. I have a huge backlog of Steam games I've yet to break open that I use for just such occasions.
The game had been up for almost 7 weeks straight until the maintenance for 4.3. I think we're fine IMO. You can give them the 50 cents or however much it is every 2 or 3 months.

Lol now I would have agreed I'd you said something like why 24hr maintenance just to have a bunch of bugs, issues and emergency maintenances but you are only complaining about loosing a day, there are other things to do to past the time and more games to play
Real question here.
Do you whine about the maintenance that finish early too?
How do WE compensate SE for doing it?
It's already in the TOS, and it doesn't happen very often. I remember when I played WoW years ago and having 6+ hour (sometimes all day maintenance) ever week and never getting time back, so it's not even an industry standard.
Would I love SE if they did that? Of course, it'd be really swell. But do they have to? Hmm, I don't think so.
When you agree to the Terms of Service when making an account, you agree to scheduled maintenance. SE is under no obligation to compensate you for the planned maintenance, or even emergency maintenances. That all day maintenance is a day we players don't get back and SE doesn't even compensate the players for the day they can't play. I think that as a way to show subscribers who pay their monthly subscription fees good will, I think SE should, at the very least, give the players a extra day before SE bills them for their monthly fee.

I must say, i like how the "problem" is framed as "24 hours Maintenance means i can't play for 24 hours and should be refunded cause i only pay for time i can actually play" when in reality, somewhere between 8-to-16-ish hours of every non-weekend day are taken up with things such as sleeping or work and school, without even specifically allotting time for personal hygiene. eating or any other important things people have to tend to on a mostly daily basis. That should cut into the, generously rounded up, 50 cents per day significantly, making this argument even more ridiculous.
That, or he frequently gets upset with basic human needs and responsibilities keeping him from playing 24 hours a day, too.
When you sleep, eat, go at school/work and everything in your life, you aren't playing.
Should they compensate for that either
That's also time wasted.
Yes, that comment is totally sarcastic and ridiculous.
We pay an online game getting many updates needing maintenance and we agreed on that before taking our subscriptions.
We never play 24h/24 even without maintenance.
So suddently crying for an entire day when we don't even play for its full duration, is a bit ridiculous as well.
not to throw fire on the flames but here's a compromise i think SE could get behind if you all want to hear me out. ToS we agreed to pay for the game AND maintenance. but what if and hear me out when the game is down there's a system in place to give us crysta (in game currency equivalent to real currency) in a equal exchange to the time gone. then were getting paid in in game items. so a month is 15$ that means a day is $.50 an hour is $.02 a minute is $0.00034722222 and a second is $0.00000578703. so the system would be simple. for the world that's down or the server or the time server maintenance starts. have a crysta system allocate 0.00000578703 crysta per second of down time to the player accounts associated with those servers in maintenance. it would be a slow accrue but 1 crysta is equivalent to $.01 then your getting in game cash kinda like a gift card for time down and yu arent shafted your poor 50 cents. ^_^ hope this helps.
