    Locked to 30fps

The last few days, for some reason, I've been randomly getting locked to 30fps without any apparent reasons. I've checked the ingame options, and my GPU's as well, and everything seems to be as it should.

It can happen at any time, from boot to after a couple of hours if not more, so I have no idea what it could be that's causing this, specially considering that I normally have around 70-80fps.

My graphics card's drivers and software were updated a couple of days ago, which I thought was the reason behind it, but I uninstalled it, and installed an older version instead, and I still am having problems with it, so I don't know what else to do.
    The things I've tried are:

Fresh PC boot to the game
    closing all browser windows
    overclocking my GPU
playing using Full Screen, Windowed and borderless

    Running Windows 10 and a Radeon RX580

but now that I think about it, having seen and heard about how many people had trouble with the latest windows update, could it had been that, that is causing it?

Hello Noctis_Caelum, Thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Based on the information provided, we have come to the conclusion that a complete reinstall of the game may be necessary. Please uninstall Final Fantasy XIV from your computer. Make sure to delete any remaining FFXIV files from your computer, including any potential files in your ‘Documents’ folder. Then reinstall the game from scratch. If you need a digital version of this, it can be found here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/. Any updates or expansions will be downloaded to your computer once logged into the appropriate account

    Hope to be of assistance.

well... I did just that, and tried to boot it just now, and unfortunately, it's gone even worse. it's now sitting at 5-10fps, and I have no idea why, it's a fresh install and everything?

    Hello Noctis_Caelum,

Have you tried rolling your updates back? Just to see for sure if that is what caused it?

    Hope to be of assistance.

okay, it's fixed now. an actual windows rollback fixed it, it was on my suspicious list, but I never thought it would actually be the cause of it.

the latest windows update can potentially break the game somehow... who'd thought?
