Going to add in another comment: it was really unnecessary to create wooden cutscenes and conversations that run dialogue and emotes sequentially, rather than concurrently. Bad enough we had such a large drop-off from 1.x CSes; it's made worse by the painfully wooden chat > emote > chat > emote sequences we see now. Can't we do two things at once? -_-

Not every MSQ cutscene is voiced. Some other F2P games like Blade and Soul/GW2 have freaking voice clips for ambient characters.....AMBIENT FRIGGEN CHARACTERS! The guys that just sit on the side lines and NEVER have anything associated with them? Yeah, friggen got voice lines for some of them in a F2P game.

Yet SE can only put voices on certain cutscenes for the main driving force of the game that EVERYONE that plays has to go through.....why? Wouldnt they want the thing that every player is going to experience to be as good as possible? The side stories like the raids and trials, sure, text only works fine.....But MSQ? Should be fully voiced.

Something which is quite old but way too complicated imo: Dyeing your chocobo a certain color. Instead of just letting us choose one color and throw it on our chocobo, they made something that can be quite frustrating thanks to needing a stable, a big bunch of fruits and luck since its still RNG..People just wanted their chocobo in a certain way not play another complicated "Mini game".

I am fine if we dont have voiced cutscenes with side quests. But its a bit strange to have one MSQ cutscene being voice acted and the next sentence is not..Can we at least have all scenes in the MSQ voiced?

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Ultimate and Savage stuff? I don't mind that, but for some reason PvP rewards rankles me and a large number of people I talk to.

One problem with PvP is that unlike Ultimate and Savage, awards are locked behind both time and amount. It's 100 per data center or something, and then there's the different awards per season or what not. An expansion and a half from now people will be running Ultimate unsynced and getting all the goodies they want from it (I'm knowingly exaggerating, Coils for instance is still a pain) when the bragging rights on it have long since rotted away. Meanwhile, if you missed PvP awards they're just gone.

Right. And the thing about Feast is that the deck is stacked against you right from the start.

    - First, you're matched with 3 other random players. They could be PVP gods, or this could be their first time. At least with Ultimate Coil and Savage, you work with the same static of people and YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH THEM.

    - The essence of Feast matches, in a nutshell is a little game we like to call "Which Healer Can Survive Longer than the Other". It's a casting race to determine who can keep their party members up while the tank and DPS are busy wailing on each other.

    - If the healer dies, it's a race back to the home point before everyone else is slaughtered. There is absolutely no strategy.

    - You absolutely MUST no-life Feast at the start of the season to have a chance at ranking on the leaderboards. Want to do roulettes? Want to craft? Want to hunt? Nope. Feast > All because queues will be dead in 3 weeks. Why 3 weeks? Because at that point, the people who PVP the most are sitting pretty at the top of the boards, and don't have to lift a finger because there's no rank decay.

    - It's highly exploitable. There are plenty of videos if you care to look, of black mages standing on top of walls raining fireballs down, or people win-trading to make it to the top, or software that tells you when someone's about to burst.

    - And if you're good enough at gnashing your teeth and sitting through that whole abysmal goobue-shite pile, enough to make it to the top 100, you get a shiny thing that no one else can have - ever. Fun!

Yes, all of these things, in theory should make winning all the more sweeter, but it doesn't. It's frustrating. It's highly toxic. It's a cesspool that's rife with cheating. Feast really is the red-headed stepchild of FFXIV PVP.

I'm going to add another thing here that SE did unnecessarily, and that is not just gender-locking gear, but locking gear to specific jobs.

SE... as you know, glamour is the true end-game. This MMO might as well be called Fashion Fantasy for the millions of gil and hours we put into making our characters look amazing.

So why can't I glamour my monk pacifist's set onto all my other classes?! I have a neato little icon beside my name that will show what class I am. So what if i want to wear a robe on my tank or armor on my mage? We've got men running around in bunny tights! I *really* think it isn't going to kill anyone's immersion at this point.

"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
    "We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.

Agee with the above. Monk has some nice tops like the Tatra set but you can only wear it as a Monk. Likewise I might want to stick some sabotons on my caster. I wouldn' mind if you could stick it in the Glamour Dresser and job restrictions get removed but as a result it is purely glamour. If you remove it from the dresser you can once again use it for battle gear and get all stats back with it once again becoming job locked. That wa you get best of both....

So last night I was playing XI with a XIV friend of mine that I lured into the game and was showing him how to use their glamour system. The first thing he said was "why can't XIV be like this?". :X

    1) They make it so damn easy (no crystals, no need to convert images first, can create an outfit anywhere, can apply an outfit anywhere, can remove instantly without the need for dispelling crystals)

And the thing I love most -

    2) You can mix and match gear from any job to create your glamour - including AF. The only stipulation here is that you are the level that could normally equip it - e.g. - you can't try and use a level 99 NIN piece in your glamour if your NIN is only level 20).

The whole Tank, Healer and DPS role thing? I kind of think the game would be better without it because it would possibly give job classes freedom to expand and feel less constrained. As an example, Red Mage could've possibly have played the role of DPS or Healer due to the role's history of being a hack of all trades job class. But instead we get a job class that's basically a faster spell casting version of Black Mage that unnecessarily puts itself in danger for close range physical attacks that are just counted as spells according to its stats and better emergency resurrection caster than Summoner since it can double cast ant spells it has.

Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE Red Mage, but it just could have been a better job class without it possibly not being constrained by the current Tank, DPS and Healer system. Some other job classes feel like they lack proper identity because of that (Summoner) and so it makes me wonder how well the game would do without that system.

Sorry if my post is a little confusing. I'm at work right now and am trying to type this out as fast as I can before my boss catches me. X'D
