Deciding on SAM weapon: Crit vs DH

I’m late to the higher end gear grind, this is my first time being anywhere near endgame of an MMO. SAM is my only 70 job. It’s at i333 now and I’m waiting on reset to get another Mendacity accessory which will allow me to do the new raid and the final trial to finish MSQ. The only piece of gear I haven’t touched is the weapon slot because I’m torn between grinding out Creation tomes and doing Deltascape to get the Augmented Allagan one or venturing into Eureka to try the NM train party. I haven’t set foot in Eureka yet but I did read a guide and one thing popped out at me that made me want to ask this question. The SAM Anemos weapon swaps secondary stat from Crit to Direct Hit when you upgrade it. I was under the impression that Crit was a better stat for SAM currently or should I not worry about that and gear for it elsewhere? Or should I not worry too much about it and just go for it since the final Anemos weapon has a much higher iLvl than the Allagan stuff can be brought up to?

Which stat is the best of Crit and DH I will leave for someone else to answer, but I am pretty sure the difference is not all that big, so my recommendation is to not worry about it.
Other weapon stats are far more important, in particular the Damage it does as well as the amount of your main stat it adds (Strenght for a SAM)

Honestly, if you're not doing savage raid this tier, I suggest you ignore secondary stats and just aim to up your ilvl. Sks, Crit and DH all work for SAM. There are only few jobs that should really pay attention to secondary stats because they don't benefit a lot from some of them, like RDM and MCH, but SAM is fine with anything.

At your gear levels (and for weapons in general) Weapon Damage > secondary stats. Go for the Anemos weapon until/unless you decide to do the newest trial or are clearing O8 Savage.

Personally I like crit>dh>sks... I like consistently high numbers and this seems to fit... but I'm certainly no mathematician nor a bleeding edge gamer

Thanks everyone for the great input. I appreciate it. I used Challenge Log XP boost to make it to Lv 7 in Eureka today so I’m moving forward. Happy adventuring!
