PS4 5006 error on start screen and character selection screen..

I've been having this problem for months. I usually leave the game open when I put my ps4 into rest mode and leave it on the character selection screen. When I come back the next day I click my character and it give me the 5006 error and kicks me back to the login screen. If I close the game before I put the ps4 into rest mode and login normally I never see this problem. I also had this problem today but it was on the start menu when it tried to connect to the character lobby.

It doesn't happen every day it's random and every solution I saw online says it's a server side issue. Before a mod posts yes my ports have always been open I don't know why you would have to port forward in 2018 for a online game didn't have problems like this on WoW back in 2006 and my ports were not open back then also never have problems with online games but this one.

- Platform: PS4
- Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect: 5006
- Type of connection: Wired
- Other programs running while the game is playing: ps4 so idk what runs while I play
- Frequency at which disconnect occurs: Turn on ps4 go to character selection get error
- Everything you have tried to resolve the issue: Ports are open, log back in works, restarting game works, closing game when done playing works.

By closing the game and restarting, you're able to login in correctly every time, correct?

I'm not sure what this error code means but it may be something involved with your connection timing out due to inactivity. You may have to close the game out and log back in normally if you experience this again.

I noticed my ps4 when in rest mode only stay connected to the internet when it checks for updates or uploads data could this be the problem? Also yes when it sends me back to the login screen i login just fine no problems no errors "also if I restart or start the game normally" only if I leave the game running and go and click my character the next day it sometimes gives me this error.

It sounds like having the game open in rest mode is what is causing the issue. I'd suggest shutting down the application before putting the console in rest mode.
