I feel like it’s mostly both ends of the spectrum. Those that underperform and those that are really good with the fight already. I do feel like tanks that underperform dip out quicker than most. It comes down to patience and a lot of people don’t have it. Either people want an easy carry or people want everyone else to be on their level ... even though it’s new content in this case. Players that put 12+ hours a day in need to realize that isn’t the norm and people don’t have that much time to learn a fight. People that don’t try to learn they can’t be carried through content.

I think there should be more of a punishment for rage quitting.

On a side note, I thought this trial was difficult to learn but super fun once I found a group that was patient enough. It’s very unforgiving for rezzes because there are a ton of large AoEs that you can’t avoid if the timing is off.

I'd say you're right. I went into the new trial (just normal mode) with an FC mate to help them clear. Now I'm not the greatest, it was only my second run of it, and I don't have a parse to prove it, but on SMN I would be fighting with the main tank for aggro without using my aggro dump, and even while halfing my enmity, I would be ahead of the melee on the aggro scale. XP We kept failing and failing and failing and eventually 2 DPS dropped out after saying some nasty things. We got 2 new ones (also SAM and NIN lol), boom, suddenly we could make it past phases. Wiped once because both healers were new and hadn't been able to make it far in the fight, but it went insanely better.

Sometimes it's people who underperform. Sometimes it's just jerks. Had a Tsuku group the other day where we wiped on first try because one of the DPS had been doing a bit of a different strat and ran the wrong way during the meteor on our first try. Tank instantly left after the wipe. We got a new one and went on to clear no problem.

I'm leveling my tank right now and I swear to god I will never be a tank like that.

I'm relieved to say i've only ever seen someone drop out once, but we perservered in spite of having to do 2 additional attempts, i can't recall the dungeon name now. But yeah i'd never drop out of a duty. As a Tank i know what my job is and i expect everyone else to do their role.

Those who think people can be carried because "it's only a dungeon", or "they're leveling" when they don't know the basics (the game does a great job at pointing them out), or when they're barely geared (the game literally throws gear and money at your faces) are to be blamed. The game is never gonna rise up in terms of a healthy, skilfull community, and it's one of the reasons the tedious patch cycle is never gonna change.

I can only recall occasional tanks quitting on 4-8 mans. No one even talks to each other in groups let alone ask if people know the fight before a boss. It's like doing dungeons with your squadron lol.

I'm baffled by all the stories about people wiping for days on a MSQ trial. Did it once in one pull. Healer LB3 had to be used, but no wipes. And this was day one.

Two weeks later and it's "There were more wipes than the baby aisle of Walmart."

I don't always rage quit, but when I do, I make sure to announce the absurd reason why, shout "RAGE QUIT", and then perform some continuous emote while I stay with the group waiting for others to load in. Hey it lightens the mood a little, lol.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

That's the case sometimes but not always. Other times maybe someone already cleared it and was in a farm mode and not progression mode. I've cleared Tsuku EX over 60 times between my 2 toons but if I'm just trying to get my Trials roulette done, I'm probably not going to be as patient compared to if I willingly went into a practice or clear PF party. I just want to get my roulette done and farm some gil/tombstones and not do 4-5 pulls wiping due to newer player(s) or bad player(s) messing up mechanics. If you are new to this fight or still need practice, you can always form a PF party and recruit ppl to learn the fight with you or you can ask friends or FC members to help. Also, I don't insult anyone or say anything mean when they mess up, I usually just wish them luck and leave or log out. I don't think that's a bad thing to do on my part.

I have seen some really terrible players recently in Tsuku normal where they just can't learn the easy mechanics- dying to moon phase stacks, being lost during the fans, dying to tank buster cleaves... things that are just not believable but actually happens. I was patient and tried to help some ppl get a clear on a trial roulette but after 6 pulls, I finally realized these people have no chance. If you stay you are just going to keep wiping and wasting time. Better to cut your loss and take the 30 min penalty and hope for a better group.
