Gold Saucer needs to offer high pay off gil rewards. Let people place bets on your outcome when fighting in open world.
....or maybe thats just flat out betting, which wouldnt be cool/legal in a game.

Ill reiterate one more time to try some of the maps you get. The pieste map "recommends" a group of 8 level 50s, but 2-4 coordinated people can manage(less required the better geared and higher level they are). You could get up to 30k gil for opening the thing, plus mats/minis that sell for several times that(or potentially less then this, as theres a good amount of randomness to maps). If you and your friends each bring a map(or two - you can have one in your saddlebag that doesnt count against the 1 in your inventory limit) and you take turns, you can each wind up with a potentially good payday. That gets accelerated with the level 60 and 70 group maps(with their random mini-dungeons), but it starts at 50.
Ways to make gill;
1. Want to make money with out crafting? answer is simple play a tank role. (
If your lucky 300k in few hours
2.Want to make Gill at a faster pace? Level up your crafting
Average depending on item HQ and level 500k-1.5mill+ a day , 10-20mill a week if you know the market.
3.Don't like to gather materials? Bite the bullet level up gathering and let retainers do it for you.
Average 500k-800k a week
Not enough retainers? Use the OPTIONAL Services...
What's that you don't believe in micro transactions? -.- welcome to the business world.
4. Treasure maps;
Can farm once a day may need to make group or static or can buy maps. (takes money to make money )
Average 50k-600k depending on maps and bonus mobs with items being sold.
5. Leves; Crafting and gathering are the best.
Still too much work? See step 1
Note; Numbers can vary by server and yes some work is needed.
