Wind-up Yotsuyu minion will be for one character only!

(Following on from the thread where the recent codes with the Eorzean Symphony were for a single character only)

Square Enix have updated their stores and it's now confirmed that the Yotsuyu minion that comes with the upcoming artbook (Stormblood Art of the Revolution - Western Memories) will also be for a single character only:

Please reconsider this decision Square Enix! One account can have 40 characters, do you expect us to buy the physical product multiple times to get it on all our characters?

For over 4 years these items have always been account wide, so the big question I have to wonder... why the change? Are SE intending for in-game items to be single character only going forward? What about future promotional mounts/outfits? (like in the past the Original Fat Chocobo and Cloud mounts for example).

I don't know how many of us actually buy these products just for the in-game items, but if this change will affect your decision to purchase, please reply here!

Edit 1: The NA store is also now updated to say that it's for a single character only
Edit 2: Reply from SE (quoted here), they're not changing it and implies going forward will be the same for at least all bonus items.

NA is the only store that doesn't have the footnote denoting single-character. Both JP and EU have it, though.

With regards to the OP:
I firmly agree that the shift from account-wide to single character needs to be reconsidered. I don't purchase these items for the codes themselves--they've always been a nice bonus to the wonderful music and gorgeous art--but as someone who has alt characters and occasionally plays around on them, why add in this limitation now after 4 years? It's incredibly stupid.

Please reconsider. Because I'm sorely tempted to not buy the merchandise at all just out of principle.

I'm someone that's supported the game since 1.0. I've bought every physical product that has a code tied to it. I play with more than one character. This is ridiculous.

I only have one account but I have a friend who plays with 3 "mains" - one on each data centre and spends couple days a week on each.
I got the Symphony blu ray and was surprised it was one character only and sad to see that this one's description has changed to also reflect one character. I'm hoping someone has just messed up and misunderstood something a higher up said. Fingers crossed we get word from SE.

That's kind of where it gets difficult to discern. Some people want all the collections on all their characters. While others(myself included) only play one character, and aren't overly concerned about it being single character(I do support the people that want it on multiple, I just personally don't need to have that availability).

The way SE made this change, without even mentioning anything about it happening, is fairly underhanded.
