Official Unofficial Request to Quarantine Balmung

This is a request to the Developers to please move Balmung to its own Roleplaying Datacenter. Not only will this aid in incentivizing players to utilize the free transfers off the server, it'll help facilitate a more RP-oriented community on the server.

You don't need to post a reason, just Like if you would like to see this happen.

So your solution is basically have an RP Datacenter?

That's one solution, I suppose. It'd be ridiculously expensive to maintain an entire datacenter like that, though, so are you willing to add to your sub to help maintain that new added cost?

Do I need to give a reason or do I just hit dislike? Oh wait, cant do that, well reason(s) it is then!

1) The cost doesnt varrant the gain the slightest
2) There arent enough RPers around to varrant a whole datacenter just for them
3) I doubt that most RPers on Balmung are exclusively RP - having only their server in DF-queues would pretty much make it impossible for them to run normal content, cap tomes etc.
4) Why would that even be needed?
5) SE doesnt even want to dedicate an offical RP-server because they dont think its nessecary - what makes you think they'd go for a datacenter instead?

I dont see this happen for fincial reasons alone but on top of that I dont even think thats a good idea thanks to things like queuetimes and the like... and just keeping the server locked for character creation and transfers is doing the trick of keeping it an acceptable level right now aswell.

Datacenters aren't about segregating players.

Free transfers don't get people to leave a world when that also means leaving behind their houses, gil, friends, etc.

What you should be doing is asking SE to create a new world designated for RP and offer free transfers off Balmung to the new world. If you and other RPers are unhappy with the community on Balmung, that would be a better opportunity to get away from it rather than expect others to change for your sake. You can just RP your way through another Calamity when it comes time to explain why you no longer have a home, gil, friends, etc.

Judging from other posts this OP made, I dont think they're concerend about RPing but rather have a strong dislike for Balmung and its playerbase. Since Cactuar shares a datacenter with Balmung, they probably just want that to change, so they dont have to "deal" with Balmung-people anymore. Thats why Balmung would need its own datacenter, so it would truely be in "Qarantine", as the title asks

Easier solution for the OP: Transfer off Aether. There is a second NA-datacenter. Without Balmung.

I think its either they're making the equation RPer = bad at the regular game or they ran into people (E)RPing in a dungeon one time to often - I dont believe thats anything that happens on a regular basis or anything since most RPers are most likely respectful enough not to take any form of RP into a groupchat in a dungeon, but over my time in this game I've encounterd a few who werent - from outright RPing in group-chat to annyoing, RP-flavoured macros for things that really, really didnt need a macro.

Or they're just salty about RPers for no real reason.
