Animation Glitch 3

I have a somewhat similar problem to Rosalind and the other person that posted below.

The problem only affects Elezen Males wearing this particular armour skin, NPCs included. I suspect it could be a corrupt animation file, but FF14 has no way to verify file integrity, unlike FF11. Whenever any male wearing this runs onscreen, the client freezes temporarily, takes a very long time to load the graphics, and then ends up with the character locked in this pose while gliding around. I do not experience this problem with the shirt shown worn by the Elezen Male NPC in the previous thread.



I also experience some problems with recast timers showing the wrong recast time when skills are used. Skills seem to be refreshing (visually) faster than they actually do in the game, so they -appear- to be usable in the UI anywhere from 2-10 seconds before they actually do become available.

It must really suck to be restricted by company dogma. I would appreciate it if you read this post carefully, because I've done further testing and can replicate this bug.

Anyway, regarding your question, it just happened again, to myself this time, and seems to have happened when I equipped a gladiator shield, so you can write it down as a moment ago, Feb 4, 3:15 P.M. in Japan time on a level 15 Gladiator. As it happens regardless of what I'm wearing, I think the problem is more caused by the Gladiator class, as I think that nearly every person I've seen affected was an elezen male gladiator. Now I'm frozen in the modelviewer titanic pose, even on the login screen, and I glide all over the map. Changing gear doesn't fix the issue as long as the gladiator shield is equipped and changing my weapon/class has a chance of freezing my character in place, leaving me unable to perform any actions.



Additionally, my installation happens to be the UK Europe collector's edition of FF14.

To summarise the testing, to duplicate this bug:
1)A gladiator sword must be equipped on my character, I was using a Bronze Spatha
2)A shield must also be equipped, I was using a Bronze Buckler.
3)Removing the shield or changing the sword to a thaumaturge or conjuror weapon (while keeping the Bronze Buckler equipped) will not produce this bug.

I hope you find this information useful - if you'd like, I could write out it in Japanese.

All animation is frozen except for autoattacks, which are done without the weapon nor the shield in the correct positions.



Although changing the sword to a wand is fine, and removing the shield is fine, switching from sword + shield to a marauder weapon (where the offhand is removed) will freeze lock the character - I am not able to move although the game is not frozen as the surroundings still animate. The only way to this freezing is to relog.

One more useful thing is that my locale for non-Unicode programs is currently set to Japanese.

I hope you could solve this problem quickly, as I was planning to play my gladiator and I am currently incapable of doing so due to this bug, which also causes temporary freezing problems when other Elezen with a sword and shield load onto my screen.
