    Who all beat Red Chocobo Ex? (possible spoilers)

    Out of curiosity (and to get away from serious thread discussions for once), how many of you made it through the patch day Red Chocobo Ex trial? I got lucky - only 13 players were around when I got to do this quest. Definitely died twice though before I completed it haha (once when trying to talk to the NPC).

    It's fun to watch but not fun to do. Got the CS only to pop out of it dead. Those murder birds don't care who you are and sometimes where you are. That and holy cow do they pack a punch.

    Saw someone being chased by 6 red chocobos and others getting erased quickly and had a great time. Its a great FFT chocobo battle simulator and is extremely accurate!

    I managed to pull my two away from the CF around the trigger area and made it through ok. It would go a lot smoother if players wouldn't stack and attack birds other than their own.

    I did mine early in the day so I didn't have too much an issue, but later on my server seemed to be helping out people kill them so it didn't look to bad for people afterwards. I saw someone playing a game with how many Choco meteor debuffs they could stack without dying so that looked fun.

    When I tried it there were red birds everywhere. So much so I was unable to spawn my own because the game had reached the hard cap limit to how many quest mobs can be present? After a minute or two someone was shouting to group up; I joined and with 3 others in the group we all got credit from just one of us spawning it and tagging.

    Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
    A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

    Did it on WAR the only thing that did any noticeable damage was meteor so it was just a matter of pulling mine away from where the less intelligent people were trying to kite theirs causing scattered stacks of meteor markers.
