Exactly lol. So for other than Btn, which if Btn's like it or find it useful, I wouldn't want to request removing it. Now they say "Meh who cares?" and the Dev teams agrees cool too. Figured as much positive info we can give to make a good clean respectable player based decision, the easier it is for the Devs to make a decision themselves. Everyone wins!

Personally would love to see more ways to expand targeting items in direct reference to off-hand. Similar how we have notch marks on trees, mining points, and fishing points.

Currently when using off hand we only have our stats of Gathering and Perception taking effect (gathering for hit rate and perception for HQ)

It doesn't have to be like a notch like system but perhaps certain items have a favored stat (ex: STR,INT,MND etc) that gives us a higher chance at that per-say 'item' we're targeting. (read below)

Although this sort of thing might cause horrible problems for those leveling up a gathering job at the time not being able to access XXX stat due to gear at that level not giving them enough stat not being available to obtain those said items- but yeah- Would love to see some way to target specific off hand items

Can even go with a ability type that gives access to either dyes/ingredients/spices etc. would solve the above problem of a say certain stat not being available at a certain level thus creating item gaps while people are leveling.

<.> just a thought. Ha looking forward to all the suggestions in this thread.

Didn't they increase the drop rate of dyes a few patches ago because people complained they were too hard to harvest?

I believe they did, but primarily because the dye was designed to enhance stats on gear (unlike now), so its demand was much higher than it is now.

While we're at it, there's really no need for another inventory slot taking up space like the offhand gathering tools. Just make the mainhand able to harvest/quarry/spear (maybe make the last one net fishing or something) and get rid of the offhand tool entirely.

For example Laurel leaves or Sagolii leaves i ended up with

    140 Blue = 140 Gatheres
50 Cloves = ~15 Gathers (mostly got 4 per attempt)
    45 Laurel = ~ 12 Gathers
    130 Moko Grass = ~ 30 Gathers (mostly 4 or 5 per attempt)

at least a little bit slower rate of colours dropping would be nice, cause no one needs soo many Paint cause you aint get SP for dying cloth.

Anyone else got this or am i just unlucky?

On Mysidia the cost for certain color dyes is over inflated compared to others. For example blue and red are usually around 7k, and white is around 2k. I'd hate to see a change that pushes the price of some dyes upwards. I guess to my thinking coloring an item shouldn't be expensive. I know this doesn't answer your quantity question, but I felt it was related to it.

As a hardcore miner (finally got my luminary last week) I find that I don't really go for the dye much at all as it takes too damn long to move for anything decent and that red/white/yellow on Palamecia has went down significantly (and yellow has tunneled down to rock-bottom). The original necessity of them from 1.19 has been removed, and as such, most of their value.

Also, there is much more value to be dug out from the regular mining nodes than the quarrying due to the more practical applications of the ore and catalysts dug out from mining nodes. Among the elemental rocks, only lightning really has any value even then (for the brands you can make with them) so there's little reason to quarry outside of Thanalan.

I'm hoping that the new GSM revamp for accessories will have more applications for elemental rocks so that the value of going to quarry nodes (and out of our way sometimes, I'M LOOKING AT YOU, TREESPEAK!) will become more worthwhile.

Wow that sux. I'm with Jashynvald on this one all the way. The prices on Figaro are not bad at all. O.o

Maybe give us off-hand abilities that allow us the players to 'gather' what we want. Here are some examples:

Botany Offhand: Dyehunter (raises dye drop rates but lowers all other drop item rates)
Textilefeeler (raises drop rate on cloth fibers but lowers all other drop rates)
Veggiefinder (raises drop rate on edibles but lowers all other item drop rates)
Fishing Offhand: Spearhunter (raises speared fish/reptile drop rate but lowers all other item drop rates)
Dyepoker (raises dye drop rates but lowers all other drop item rates)
Bugfinder (raises drop rates on bugs/insects but lowers all other drop rate)
Mining Offhand: Dyefinder (raises dye drop rates but lowers all other drop item rates)
*** my mining is level 0 so i have no other ideas on mining off-hand***

Also, make these abilities 'learnable' by obtaining certain levels. So maybe around level 10 BTN you learn "Veggie-finder". But have to wait until level 45 until you learn "Textile-Feeler". Oh, and DO drop the baseline drop rates of dyes, they are too high currently. Also, raise the rates of other items. Maybe even change it so that not every node in each zone drops dye. (similar to how Catalists work).

On current dye drop rates: Yes, the playerbase did ask for them to be raised, and SE did adjust accordingly, but that was back when the dye was a new thing AND required to raise the stats on your equipment. Now that dye is just a 'vanity' item and also now that we've had several months to allow the markets to build a supply, it is time to lower the dye rate drops...even if that is all that is done to 'fix' the off-hand problem.
