This has been a glaring issue for a very, very long time and it's now come to a head with the new glamour skirt added in this patch. Currently, if a shirt or top go barely past the waist, all details from the waist to the pelvis are removed from the gear.
With the new skirt added in 4.3, it entirely removes the skirt and leaves us with thigh highs and a pair of panties, preventing us from using the top with anything other than a swimsuit or anything that doesn't go past the waist.
This issue has been brought up before and we were told that the function was working intended, well frankly it never has from a player standpoint, as many of these interesting pants options are completely ruined by this nonsensical culling of belts and adornments near or below the waist. This makes it very hard to create a glamour around those piece as parts that would look good when paired with other pieces will often times remove the lovely details that the item team worked so hard to model.
Just a few of the MANY pants that currently do this to my knowledge:
Gryphoskin Pantalettes
Hemiskin Trousers of Scouting
Artisan Cluottes
Yafaemi Trousers of Casting/Healing
Midan Breeches of Fending
Quaintrelle's Ruffled Skirt
Tafetta Loincloth
PLD AF3
BLM AF3
Among many, many others.
This needs to be changed going forward if items like the Quaintrelle's Ruffled Skirt are going to be added. There is no excuse for the belts being removed from any piece of gear, be it clipping or other lackluster reasoning and it's time that a stop is put to it.
We would like to be able to use the gear as is without fear of the item losing key details that make it unique.
I'm putting this post out here in hopes that it can be forward to the dev team and they can take into consideration how annoying this is, and has been. And Ican only hope that they'll consider changing, or outright doing away with this odd design choice—removing belts, skirts and other details—we want belts on our pants!
