Evidence for Possible 5.0 Jobs

I’m seeing it thrown around lately, but I am skeptical. I haven’t seen signs of it in game other than Ishgard, and we’ve moved on from there.
- Blue Mage
People keep begging for this. The logic seems to be the more people beg, the more the devs cave.
- Chemist
The new raid mentions this. I’m personally for this because Garlmald needs to learn how to heal without conscripts. They have no magic power.
- Beast Master
Absolutely no evidence that this exists. It would be fun to see though.
- Onmyojj
Yoshi P mentioned scrapping such a class before Stormblood.
- Oracle
It seems like it could be similar to Onmyojj, but is never the less possible.
- Gunblade
Yoshi P teased the idea of this for a Garlemald expansion.
- Arithmetist
It seems that the Ivalice raid has made people fall in love with the idea of the class.

What do you think 5.0 will have?

The only ones I think could make it from that list are Geomancer and Blue mage. All classes, even Machinist use some kind of eather, it's what's special about starting/going to/being around eorzea. Even if we go to new places, the thing that makes us special and connected to Hydaelyn is aether and the use of it.

The only one I need is Geomancer, hopefully as tank.

Actually, this is more based on the Rising 2015 Event. Where they teased about job "colors".


If you look for more images/dialogue from that event, the Naoki Yoshida NPC also talks about jobs SAM and RDM being new jobs but leaving us to "figure it out".

RDM was of higher demand than BLU and we never got a full reference until the "Surrender of Souls" arc. And considering the Scions have all (for the most part, tbf) gotten upgrades to their original jobs/models, maybe 4.4 will give us a hint: Alphi? Urianger? A new upgrade to Thancred? Maybe Y'shtola?

Someone here posted a pic of the beginning of the game where Alisae and Alhpie were sitting in the carriage on the way to the main city and pointed out the fact that Alisae had red pants and later became a RDM. Alphie wore blue...possibly symbolizing him becoming a blue mage. Could be reaching...but FFX-2 had a version of the Blue Mage called a gun mage. They also had a special skill called fiend hunter which could be a play on "ShadowHunter."

I think it could work as a tank. PLD has shown that there can be a tank with some ranged attacks. Blue Mages generally have an assortment of enemy skills such in old games with staples like White Wind that heals and Big Guard which is essentially a party shield. As well as it's damaging attacks. I think it could work as a tank personally as I don't see SE creating a melee healer. But who knows, this could all be a ploy to throw us off.

I'm pretty sure that it is said somewhere that none of the 5.0 jobs are teased in stormblood, if anything Geomancer, Templar, Arithmatist are unlikely to be new jobs.

Geomancer especially is basically a far eastern Astrologian in this game, so it would be like having Rogue and Ninja as different jobs.

Alphinauds clothes are BLUE, and by going to garlemald he learns ENEMY SKILLS. Basically, Alphinaud becomes BLU confirmed.

Alisae and Alphie are in the Coil storyline where what their books are revealed to be. Alisae only ever summons an Atherial sword, while as Alphie summons Ruby, Obsidian, and Onyx carbuncles. Urianger summons a stronger Amber Carbuncle, and Tataru

summons... uh... ???(not Emerald) Carbuncle? I think. I have pet names off, so if it was named I didn't see it as it runs away after 10 seconds.

So I think Alphie is probably going to stay Arcanist, though given

how he got put on a bus, and it crashed, he may receive a different job upgrade that still lets him summon those carbuncles.

I have a feeling that dancer is next, the amount of detail that Yotsuyu Tessen has seems a bit odd for just a monster weapon, and all primals drop glamour weapons for the new jobs so I really think DNC is a good possibility.

Geomancer is stated to just be a different way to use Conjury in the AST 60-70 questline, so I highly doubt Geomancer will be a thing.
