Alright so;

All the expansions so far have been one word related to the main theme. (Heavensward about visiting the sky areas, the Heaven's Ward, etc. Stormblood about the battles going on, Rhalgr being brought up a lot, etc)

If 5.0 is going to be about a war against Garlemald then it'd have to be related to the major themes.

I'm gonna guess something like Steelreign or Decadence.

“Dragonsong” is already used as the collective title for 3.1-3.3 (eg. in the ‘completed quests’ list in the journal and cutscene viewer) and the Dragonsong War is the war between Ishgard and the dragons.


I would also tend towards “Steel_______” as a title for a Garlean-themed expansion, though not sure how to complete it.

I think if we are headed to Ilsabard and Garlemald then the name would reflect the hunt for Ascians, Shadowhunters or Shadewalkers something ti that effect.

Machines/machina/magitek, lack of magic, ascians, emperors, FF12-like Judge suits, not sure if X is as religious (if at all) as Ishgard... My guess is that Summoner might be next featured class, either that or

gunblade, because of the Ascian killer mercenary wielded a gunblade, which I suspect will be the next DPS class

IGN posted an article saying SE just filed for the trademark. The last time IGN had a similar article it was several months before NA Fanfest, and guess what, the article was about SE filing Stormblood as trademark name. Sure enough, we're several months away from NA Fanfest.

Also, there's not a lot of use spoiler-tagging just the country name in your post when the rest of the sentence makes it fairly clear where you're talking about - and in this case we're all talking about Garlemald higher up the thread anyway.

According to the lorebook, the Empire has banned religion, and most Garleans are atheists. May be tied to their lack of aetherial ability and spirituality. (I noticed in the game that they'll swear "by the Emperor" instead of gods.)
