Can I sign a petition that states "don't bring back the need button?" Cuz I'm really okay with this, I've come to terms.

It is assumed nobody cares about alliance 24-man raid that is at level 50. It is to my shock people even have complained about that.
Poetics exchange gear in the end is more valuable if not same and to top it off - glamour case it is easier farm (and upon request as well from party)
The implying of "need" removal has everything to do with new 24 man raid as it is also considered many have most classes 50+ or even if not - the glamour are wanted and the loots as we all experience mostly drop when not in our needed classes! I find this to be convenient and lenient and offering better way of chances, much less of 'need' button.
I have gotten priority so far when greed on my class.
Not to mention "need" button never always prioritized the classes. This has definitely avoided unbecoming drama from "greed" when farmed other classes
I find this solution great as honestly the need button has only ever prioritized a percentage, not 100%

Greed only, to me, in old 24 man content is more than acceptable for glamours and the like for people with off classes they may not want to gear up to that point. Or for people playing catch up for those classes and running on their most geared one. Its only in the new content that I find it to be ridiculous. Why am I fighting a Dragoon with a level 62 Scholar for a pair of healer boots after /I/ was the one healing the whole thing? It is assumed nobody cares about alliance 24-man raid that is at level 50. It is to my shock people even have complained about that.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by 'Need button never always prioritized the classes'...Thats exactly what it did. The only people who could need were the people playing the jobs who could actively use it at that time, leaving everyone else with only the greed option. They'd only really have a shot at it if no one needed it first and then it was a free for all among whoever remained. I suppose for people who are after gear for a job they aren't playing its technically 'better' because now they have a chance even against someone on that actual role but that is precisely why it shouldn't be in current content. Why should I heal or tank for a group multiple times a week just to lose out on what I need to stay geared enough to do my job? The answer for most people is, they won't. They'll run it once to get the coin and leave it as I did this week because it isn't worth the RNG of farming and hoping people don't greed on things for alt classes on top of competing with my cohealer. In the long run that will hurt queue times and then those people who only run a DPS while trying to get tank or healer gear will wait longer and longer because the people willing to do that Job have decided this isn't worth their time. Healers already had the short end of the stick in that they were almost always going to compete against the other healer in their alliance for anything that dropped where as a tank has no competition since they removed the secondary one, and DPS always had the chance (however slim) that they'd be the only one in their alliance of a certain gear group. The layers of RNG involved at this point feel like a push too far and I hope they have learned their lesson seeing as even the region they said this change was for doesn't seem like they're on board.

"Speak softly, and carry a big stick." -Healers motto brought to you by President Theodore Roosevelt

Have you even seen 24 man loot? Only certain classes can wear certain pieces. Need rolls could do nothing but prioritise the classes the loot is intended for.
No you were just fortunate that no one else rolled or won it. No one being interested in the loot or no one rolling above you isn't the same as you actually having priority on the loot. You were lucky. You weren't given priority.

Need always prioritze the jobs when its job restricted gear which is the case in 24 man content. The only thing that can happen is that you have more than one job that can roll on the same gear with need and lose it but you still have much higher chances with need than just greed. And as a tank in 24 man content you can have 100% roll if your tank gear drops.
Greed is 100% luck. Just because you have been lucky and one the loot that you wanted does not mean that your jobs gets higher numbers with greed.
Really, I am a bit surprised by this view.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
The "need" button did what? You have obviously no idea what you are writing about. Only classes who can use that gear can roll need, so tell me how it is not prioritizing the classes. It is assumed nobody cares about alliance 24-man raid that is at level 50. It is to my shock people even have complained about that.

Yes please bring back Need !
I'm actually ok if they keep it for latest 24 man raid with loot lockout, since said lockout should prevent people for greeding everything - but it makes absolutely zero sense for older 24 man raids, as their stated goal was to help gear alts but old raids are purely for glamour and inferior to what you get with tomestones.

+1 voice in favor of bringing "Need" back
It was an interesting experiment but I consider it a failure. Also... If I'm supposed to raise my lower job's item level by playing a higher item level job, then why can't I raise a lower EXP level while playing a higher EXP level job too?
I run Ridorana in the second day of the patch. I run with FC mattes. Most of the drops were nin and drg. No one wanted that. The last boss loot came and dropped a mage leg. There were 2 BLM in the party. The SAM said: "I'll not run this again anyway." And he rolled, and he got the loot. He doens't have ANY mage leveled. That happened in a closed party with fc mates... Don't you dare say to me that won't happen with a bunch of strangers.
Bring back the Need button in 24 mans

Hey mods, we know it's not cool to post a lot of topics about the same subject.
But fot that, we need to know you are reading this and taking feedback.
SE said previously it would think of removing the ""feature"" if it wasn't well received, and here we are.
