More people lived than died to the move & the ones who did weren't in position to begin with when the move started.

The person you are looking at doesn't stay right next to his hitbox. They veer off path more than they should've AND they stopped moving altogether, which is why they died.

You can also see that he casts a Jolt II as the first laser is happening, which sets him back even farther.

This mechanic heavily encourages player to use the boss's hitbox, this "forbidden zone" to a lot of players, to make the movement much easier. Considering other mechanics have done this before: Shrinyu EX's wormwail, Soaking hatches from within Twintania's hitbox in T5, etc, I don't think using a boss's hitbox is bad design.

At any rate, this mechanic most certainly doesn't "require" sprint, it's only QoL. If someone has like >300 latency then they need to adjust for that fact using the boss's hitbox.

I mostly only use Sprint if I want to get back into the middle of the room ASAP (and forget Corp-a-corp is a thing. Different story when playing MNK), which means it'll wear off by the time Dispose goes off. Haven't been hit by it since day one (as you can probably see on my buff bar, Sprint has already been used and wears off just as Dispose is done being 'cast')

Australian on American server, 150-200 ping, etc etc.

Need to react fast and stick close to the boss... A few times I've been afraid I'd outrun his turning rate and run into the last lasers or two. And with Sprint it might be possible to happen....

Keep a tight circle and keep running ahead. Don't need sprint, but sprint helps. People also use sprint in other fights to maximize DPS uptime, like O7S and O8S.

While I agree Sprint isn't necessary to avoid Dispose I agree it can really help.

When I ran this last night the comment was made in discord that this place should be called "Sprint: The Raid" because of how often it's on CD, particularly for the last two bosses. It's definitely seeing more use but is also not necessary.

Welp, don't know what to tell you anymore. Provided excellent videos that show people dodging it the day after patch dropped. I feel like nothing will please you at this point.

    LOL not surprised.

Most people don't have a sufficient education these days to even know what a prime number is.
In my case the idiots who ran the raid when i did my first run didn't bother to speak English and just hur durred the explanation.
When I ignored them - I got it nailed.

As to the OP's obvious lack of understanding beyond even my reasoning...she is likely under geared....and having connection issues.

I got clipped a couple of times...I didn't the last go around when I literally got in the guys face....and yes..it really is math.

The closer you are to the center point of a circle....the shorter the path...the faster the orbit. ( I didn't use sprint...didn't need it...my gear let me survive one hit at least)

    It's common sense....or I guess...un-common sense it seems.
But yes...please continue blaming the dev's. Works every time right?

PS: I was Red Mage :P

You know, one thing that seems to get people killed is trying to outrun the beam after getting hit once which just results in getting wombo comboed into oblivion. If you can’t avoid it just get hit once and let the beam rotate past you (you might need to go opposite the beam a bit to make sure you’re out of the next pulse)—then you can resume following after it. Even with poor latency that should give you enough of a head start to avoid the rest even when he’s spicy.
