Hints at new class? Maybe?

I'm hoping for puppetmaster. Ala Mihgo reminds me a lot of Aht Urgan and Lyse of Nashmeira (especially after that outfit change). She's clearly hand to hand, which makes sense.

Would be pretty cool, but they've made a pretty big point of not taking anything from XI in it's original form so... meh.

Why don't I want the job? I don't find it appealing. I've never felt gunblades were an interesting weapon. Others can demand it, no problem there. I just really hope that it isn't, so that a different job can be added. I'd take geomancer or dancer or some other original job over a gunblade job personally.

I wasn't a fan of FFVIII anyway so I don't see the point of a Gunblade class when there's soooo many other ideas they could go with.

Since they're doing Ivalice for the raids, I'm kind of hoping for Ivalice related classes for the next expansion.

From the Tactics games mostly, since 12 didn't really do much in terms of new classes

Calling it now. Gunblade will share gear with Dragoon. Just like Sam shares gear with Monk. Furthermore, Gunblade will be the second job to add piercing debuff, making it another viable option besides Dragoon.

So far I've heard in ridorana questline: [/hb] geomancer, arithmetician, templar[/hb]

[/hb]Geomancer[/hb] for sure. pops up a ton lately in the quest dialogue.

Arithmetician? We're going to fight people with math (we'll be the bane of schoolchildren all over the world!)? I think Arcanists got that covered. And Templar is pretty much the same thing as Paladin. The only kind of not-redundant thing on that list would be Geomancer (and they have been directly compared to AST a lot in the AST quests)

I’d like to see a shovel based class that allows you to beat the enemies with different types of shovel. Shovel Knight! SHK just think of the endless possibilities you can do with a shovel (whistles)

Pretty sure the next job is going to be a Gunblade-themed class.
Someone also threw out the possibility that the it could be a play on a blue mage but based off of the x-2 version otherwise known as the Gun Mage. "ShadowHunter" could also be a play on Fiend Hunter which was a special skill of theirs. If your theory is correct (which would blow my f-ing mind that this was planned out so far back) This would make sense as Alphinau could possibly pick up the job from being around Shadow Hunter.

I really can't picture Alphinaud wielding a gunblade.


On the other hand I do like the thematic idea of him becoming a blue mage vs. Alisaie's red mage.
