So I see people starting to make charts on how to handle that substract mechanic...

In all honesty, please try to understand the mechanic instead of using charts... it is nothing hard.
And also, because instead of helping, it looks like charts are actually making people even more confuse on how to handle said mechanic.

You do realize simple math can be a challenge for most people now a days. With out an app they are lost.

Hope the "chart" includes a "guide" for healers on how to heal the party back to full health before the raid wide AoE that comes afterwards. It's unacceptable for folks to die after successfully doing the mechanic because of not getting topped off.

Consider, perhaps, that the charts may be helpful for people with dyscalcula, a learning disability, a language barrier, or simply issues doing math while multitasking. It's best to figure out how to do the mechanic properly if you can, but if others need a chart, that's not hurting your performance.

Frankly speaking, I doubt it'll help more than trying to do the math.
I don't know how severe can dyscalculia be, but is it so bad that you'd get stuck with 1 digit numbers calculations ?

As for multitasking, boss isn't attacking, so you have like 10 second to place yourself. If they have trouble calculating, may be they should stop DPS and focus on the mech ?

Biggest problem with a chart, is that you need to get your eyes out of the game to check it.
Also, if you already have trouble doing 1 digit maths, I really doubt a chart is going to help.

Some people can't do the math on the top of their heads like that. So the chart is just a tool for those people to use. Just because you think it won't help doesnt mean it isnt actually going to help some people.

I appreciated the chart greatly. It's slightly better than the guessing I was doing! Also you mention taking your eyes off the game to check it, but you just said you had time to pause and figure out the mechanic, in other words do the math. so regardless its not a problem is it.

If it helps someone who cares? For me I don’t know that it was so much the math (yes, I’m American, that’s the proper way to say it where I live), but that I was in a panic and didn’t even notice that my health bar had changed. For some reason I was checking my buffs to see if there was a new one with some number, but managed to tunnel vision right over my health. Also, I think I was confused by the way the boss phrases things. For example, doesn’t it say things like “divide by 3”? Again, it’s entirely possible I just misread or just wasn’t looking in the right place when I was feeling rushed/panicked, but if I had seen something like “divisible by 3” I would have found it much less confusing and would have known what to do, assuming I solved my issue of failing to even realize what number I was starting with earlier.

Still, it'd take more time to consult a chart than to do that 1 digit calculation. Also this way, I am still looking at the game and not breaking my focus by looking at a paper, a tablet or even worse, alt-tabbing !

Why must people make simple things unneccessarily more complex and then it becomes the norm.
Why not take 1 minute to explain it, rather than linking those kind of things in chat... it's actually making more people fail due to the confusion lol

Along the same lines as this... the damage afterward is a real kick in the balls. I did the mechanic just fine, but my healers are dead because they can't do math. Great. Goodbye cruel world.
