Math Blaster is my new favorite boss

Not when two full party's cant get it and die then you are stuck raising trying to survive.

I ain't there yet seen my cousin do it and laughed at him but his party actually did pretty good while two other party were short dps cause they died during math quiz part and no dps to fight the two robots so they wipe from the explosion.

I did this fight 7 times now (through wipes only went into it the duty 2 times so far) and I still can't survive it. Math savage is to hard for me I guess.

Still like the boss though especially when all the people that got a res just die right away again by his lasers. Had a crazy run yesterday with like 5 Healer LB3s spread around the 3 teams lol

I was confused by the time you said "make your hp 2, 3, 5, 7" because I cannot do any of that quickly. You can call it "math", you can call it "memorization", but the fact of the matter is: when it involves numbers, my brain cannot process it quickly enough. Knowing what 2+2 is memorization as well, and yet most of the time if you ask me that I have to take a moment to actually think about it. Knowing that 6 x 4 is 20 is memorization as well, but I have to (and just did) think about it for about 10 seconds and go through the whole list (2x4 is 8, so 3x4 is 4 more and thats.. ok 12.. etc etc).

So to "make (my) hp 2, 3, 5, 7" takes me much longer than I'm allotted in there. It's not an issue of not memorizing anything, it's an issue of not processing the information as quickly. You can't memorize what you can't process.

Other things come easily to me, like I can pair word cues to attacks. For example: Susano "now cometh our part, make way" I realized very early on is the cue for the whole party to move. For this most recent trial in the first phase, "beg for mercy" is the cue to stack behind the boss whereas "your end is near" is the cue to split into two groups to take the damage. That took me 2 attempts to realize that on the first day, before there were clear videos or guides.

But if you throw numbers into the mix, I am hopeless.

I think that is what a lot of people are failing to understand. Number memorization or mathematical concepts come easily or at least not painfully to some people but that doesn't mean everyone is the same. I detest admitting I have issues with numbers because it always garners the same responses: Incredulousness and derision "oh but it's easy!" "well, you just have to remember...." "you just have to learn it" (if only it were that simple; my troubles with math have kept me from pursuing careers I desperately wanted, because failing the courses 3 times, with private tutoring, starts to get expensive).

I'm unsure what I'm getting wrong here, but he used Divide by 3 and I bumped my health to 6 and it failed. Tried it again on the next round of math to be sure I hadn't seen wrong (Divide by 3 cast, my health was 4, added 2 and had 6 health... failed). Was my first time so I'm sure I'm missing something obvious and will look silly, but can't learn without asking. The rest was grand and all correct.

Any ideas what I missed?

Very likely that was it. I'd have assumed running through the orbs would do the trick. The others I succeeded I hadn't had to pick up orbs. Shame to get every bit of math right and fail on that :P

My issue is that the punishment for making just one mistake is death. If you screw up on the first of two and your not a tank, your dead. The following blast will kill you without a godly good SCH or a tank limit break. If they ease off on the single mistake punishment, the number of wipes will drop off dramatically.

I am getting very tired with SE and their love of the death penlty. Fail the mechanic.. death, have lag?... death, forget your password?...death, stub your toe..death for you and your family. I am joking on the last two but seriously, they need to punish mistakes not kill.

Honestly it is pretty scary that people have trouble with the concept of prime numbers and multiples... It's barely "math"...

I am sure there are some things in life that you have trouble with that other people would consider "scary." Compassion goes a long way sometimes.
