I think the worst part is when healers fail to top off the party once the math phase ends so anyone who did the math correctly winds up losing their stacks immediately to the incoming Incinerate.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

Construct 7 brought to you by Texas Instruments™

Even though I never had it officially diagnosed, it's been brought up by several people over the years that I've exhibited signs of dyscalculia (and also dyslexia, to an extent, but that's beside the point). Luckily, it's not as bad these days and I've learned to manage, at least where basic math is concerned (I certainly don't miss college algebra, that's for sure). Still though, I've managed to do mostly okay with this part, although I recall I got mixed up once or twice while focusing on where I was supposed to run to. There's definitely more brutal parts of this fight, especially if you're a caster.

I just accept death because I cannot math that quickly. I failed math all through high school and only graduated because grade 11 was "remedial" math. I can't add double digit numbers without writing them down. I can't subtract double digits. I can't divide most numbers. I never understood integers or fractions either. I can't tell if 2/3 is bigger than 1/4 and have to always Google it if I'm baking and need to know. Not officially diagnosed with dyscalculia, but the fact that I have trouble telling time, have trouble counting backwards, have difficulty estimating (every morning I have to use my phone's calculator to tell me how much change I should get back at the coffee shop and then I have to spend time counting it out three or four times to ensure that it was correct. Example: coffee and bagel came to $3.87 and I gave them a $20, I have to pull up my calculator to find out I need $16.13 back because I cannot do the subtraction in my head), spend an inordinate amount of time learning any type math concepts, have difficulty remembering place value (I have to write it out and then individually count 'ones, tens, hundreds' and even then I often get it confused), has pretty much convinced all educators I've been in contact with that I very likely have the disorder.
I know I will never be able to successfully handle that mechanic with Construct 7. I've accepted that. I'm good at other things, just not this thing.

Regardless of what percent of people are diagnosed with dyscalcula, people obviously still struggle with this mechanic for various reasons from not being able to calculate fast enough to not understanding what is even being asked of them. I sincerely doubt people are failing this mech out of laziness or just to troll like I’ve seen some people in game imply. Even if you are not diagnosed with dyscalcula you can still struggle with this mechanic for reasons other than laziness. Also just because one person finds something to be brain dead easy doesn’t mean everyone else has the same experience. People getting all up on their high horses over this is so ridiculous. No one is better than anyone else just because they got the mech down on day 1. People will get more proficient at it over time.

As usual, my only real problem is people running straight into the boss before I have a chance to explain it to everyone who's new.
Well and Disposal. I really hate the way it works.

I got the Math on the second go- what I hated about this boss and honestly makes me not want to do this raid- is the disposal move. Because your going round in a circle fast- I got sick by the end of the fight. Like motion sickness sick- headache, nausea, etc. This doesn't happen often with games (usually only first person it happens) but it did for that boss.
So luckily I was going to log afterward- but if I wanted to do something else, that was not going to happen after this raid.

Well for the prime number thing it is just remembering to make your hp 2,3,5,7 or step out of a circle if it is one of those numbers. For "divide by 4" make your hp 4,8,12 for "divide by 3" make your hp 3,6,9 There no math involved just memorization like remembering the scripts in the fight because you have to move a head of time because lag.I just accept death because I cannot math that quickly. Most people forget that some just don't calculate things that fast. Even if it is simple math or memorizing a pattern of numbers it isn't some can do quickly on the fly as without more then 5 seconds of thought.
I've passed every math class I've ever had with no lower then a b. But that never requires you to spew out a number in less then 10 seconds, even if they are memorized. Most of the time people are given more then enough time to work on a problem to figure out the solution.
Some just might panic. not have the ability to recall or memorize. or cannot calculate the solution in a moment.
Probably the best solution to this 'problem' is to over heal afterwards.

I was confused by the time you said "make your hp 2, 3, 5, 7" because I cannot do any of that quickly. You can call it "math", you can call it "memorization", but the fact of the matter is: when it involves numbers, my brain cannot process it quickly enough. Knowing what 2+2 is memorization as well, and yet most of the time if you ask me that I have to take a moment to actually think about it. Knowing that 6 x 4 is 20 is memorization as well, but I have to (and just did) think about it for about 10 seconds and go through the whole list (2x4 is 8, so 3x4 is 4 more and thats.. ok 12.. etc etc).
So to "make (my) hp 2, 3, 5, 7" takes me much longer than I'm allotted in there. It's not an issue of not memorizing anything, it's an issue of not processing the information as quickly. You can't memorize what you can't process.
Other things come easily to me, like I can pair word cues to attacks. For example: Susano "now cometh our part, make way" I realized very early on is the cue for the whole party to move. For this most recent trial in the first phase, "beg for mercy" is the cue to stack behind the boss whereas "your end is near" is the cue to split into two groups to take the damage. That took me 2 attempts to realize that on the first day, before there were clear videos or guides.
But if you throw numbers into the mix, I am hopeless.
I think that is what a lot of people are failing to understand. Number memorization or mathematical concepts come easily or at least not painfully to some people but that doesn't mean everyone is the same. I detest admitting I have issues with numbers because it always garners the same responses: Incredulousness and derision "oh but it's easy!" "well, you just have to remember...." "you just have to learn it" (if only it were that simple; my troubles with math have kept me from pursuing careers I desperately wanted, because failing the courses 3 times, with private tutoring, starts to get expensive).
