Swallow's Compass and depth perception

This isn't a bug per se, but I have an issue with Swallow's compass. When you transition into the first three areas, there is an effect where an onmyoji talisman suddenly covers your screen, and the area transitions into an elemental type (water, fire, etc)

The issue I have is that the talisman appears behind your character, playing havoc with depth perception for a little bit. It's like someone holds a piece of paper up suddenly, covering the screen, but from inside the screen. I find it pretty disorienting, and I wonder if anyone else does.

I've only been through the dungeon once, but I did feel like that screen effect was a bit disorienting. I couldn't have said what was actually wrong with it afterwards, but I didn't like it.

I liked it, but I could see people needing a minimal version of it. Like having Kanji appear above your character while the outline of the screen turns X colour, instead of it distorting everything infront of you

It's ok to me, it only occurs once.

It occurs every time you go into a room at the start and there's, what, 3? 4 of them? If your party has high dps like mine did you get to see it in pretty rapid succession, I'm still a bit woozy.

I actually liked how in your face the effect is, makes it a bit more immersive and I certainly wasn't expecting to be surprised from a dungeon of all things. If you're getting motion sick or something you have my sympathies though.

Yes its a screen effect not an in-area effect.
It's pretty neat.

same here, I guess it's WAI because surprise! I couldn't focus on the mob right after that animation. I didn't notice there was a sphere thing at the water room until my next run, this shaky, psychidelic thing perhaps is another layer of challenge, and I'm not sure if I should like it.
