    Thank you for the information everyone.

    It looks like this issue has been reported (the post in the bug forums has been moved to 'Accepted Bugs'). Given the possibility that this isn't a bug and you have all hit some weird technical issue, I'd like to give a list of troubleshooting suggestions to see if any of them resolves the issue:

    1) If you have any dedicated sound card, try reinstalling or updating the drivers for that device.
    2) Check your sound settings in the system tray. Right click it and select 'Playback Devices.' Select your default audio device and click the 'Advanced' tab and choose a lower quality format. See if this has any affect on the issue.
    3) Perform a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. Make sure that no other program is running in the background when you play the game.

    If these have no impact on the issue, I'd recommend submitting a bug report. You can do this on the bug report forums (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...2-In-Game-Bugs) or in-game by typing "/supportdesk" in the main chat window.

    I'd like to add my own experience with the audio lag.
    Running O7S last night with friends and I noticed considerable audio lag in certain areas. for example, the first set of DPS bombs I rely on the audio queue of the explosion to know 100% when to move back to the boss, but there was easily a 1 second delay compared to when the sound usually goes off.

    Later on in the fight I noticed when activiating Life of the Dragon the Nastrond sound effect went off a couple seconds after I used the skill. The delay seemed at least more obvious when I was using a lot of oGCDs in succession. Like say for example I did: Mirage Dive + Life Surge - Full Thrust - Geirskogul + Nastrond - Fang and Claw
    The sound effect for Nastrond wouldn't sound until well after I'd used Fang and Claw.

    I'm playing on PS4 connected via Ethernet, 3.5mm jack to connect external speakers into the back of my TV.

    We have an update about the delayed sound effects issue.

    The fix has been implemented, testing completed, and we are now performing final checks. Currently, we estimate we will be finished by tomorrow, May 27th, and the fixed version should be ready for release by May 28th.

    We will publish a news once the final checks are complete and the date for the emergency maintenance is decided.

    We apologise for the inconvenience this issue is causing and thank you for your patience.
