    Launcher won't start

    Everytime i open the launcher i get this error:
    ''launcher unable to launch application. Launch using the ffxivboot.exe''
    I tried reinstalling
    Run as admin
    Turning off my antivirus
    I tried alot but it doesn't seem to work if you are good with this stuff please help.

    I just formatted my pc and still the same problem how is this not working?

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    This may be because your shortcut is not connecting properly to the boot file. Find the ffxivboot.exe file and try to open the game that way. The default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe

    If this does not work, try deleting the files in the My Documents folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV), then launch the game again.

    I already tried that, i tried again but no success i don't know what do to next.
    It did work yesterday but when i exited the game and tried again i wouldn't start again so :/

    Thank you for the update Psnerp.

    Try setting the compatibility mode for the launcher to Windows 7 (assuming you do not currently use Windows 7). Right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7.

    Make sure the game is installed on the C drive if it is not already.

    Try performing a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    Open the Internet Explorer browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    It worked although i lost a bit of playtime i'm really grateful for your help thank you.
    I hope they give you a raise ;D ;D
