I think this kinda just shows that this is SEs WoL. They always try to not give them too much reactions because they want people to have their own character but in the end, in such scenes, not doing anything is showing character. The same with the 24 man quest. Cutscene WoL is truly the Doormat of Light. Looks at abuse and takes verbal abuse without saying anything. I just try to ignore that but it does sometimes really get annoying.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I'll be frank i have more issues on the direction of the scene as a whole than our reactions.
First of all the VA doesn't match Asahi's espression, he looks like shouting and be very unhinged yet he's using his normal calm and contained voce, it is quite jarring in my opinion.
Then we have him talking about us taking vengeance about what happened. Why? I would've liked to attack him because he was a scumbag not because of what happened to you-know-who, imho by that point she was far gone. So the script there doesn't make sense to me at least. It could be a way to express how much of a moron Asahi really was, but I dunno I think that scene is not well done at all

Maybe they wanted to play about the diplomatic immunity shit, but mh dunno

In my headcannon, my DRK did nothing because she knew exactly how much aether Yotsuyu had left (not a 100% sure the WoL can do that, but given our history with primals I think its possible...).

Yotsuyu still deserved punishment for her crimes, but she also had some degree of sympathy from my DRK for her childhood. A DRK exists, after all, because one Temple Knight decided to protect the weak from those that used law and power to shield themselves from punishment. Asashi was, to me, clearly as guilty as his parents in her abuse; if he had said anything to his parents, her childhood might have been better. However, by letting Asashi (who we knew was a little unhinged from our previous encounters) rant his way next to Yotsuyu, we allowed, with the utmost pragmatism and a bit of kindness (again, DRK), the resolution of three things at once

    1) Executing a dangerous criminal that had abused the people of Doma for years. (Saving Hien from having to make a harsh choice, and hurting Gosetsu)
    2) Removing an obstacle to the prisoner exchange and potential peace between Doma and the Empire, without doing anything directly. (Maxima, Hien, or Alphy can say without lieing that the WoL did not kill the ambassador.)
    3) Let a broken woman have a final bit of happiness/peace/redemtion before she died.

Of course, I main DRK cause they make every story better.
