    [dev] Mob Respawn Aggro

    Did a light search without finding anything on this, so here goes:

    Please, please, make mobs not aggro immediately after spawning. XI had a timer before they would aggro giving you just enough time to move out of harm's way, why can't this be implemented on XIV? It doesn't seem very logical to warn the player of an aggro'ing mob via an icon by its head when you don't give the player a chance to see it and get out of the way.

    i support this. getting attacked immediatly after a spawn it's quite problematic, expecially in low levels party

    I at least would appreciate enemies not linking immediately upon respawning until a certain time has passed or they were directly attacked.

    I think there is a timer on that. Thing is, the server lag makes it appear as if there isn't one, just like the damage gets subtracted from your HP before the WS animation finishes (or sometimes even before it starts).

    If there is a timer, it is so miniscule that it is impossible to make use of. Duo'ing up thaum with a friend we noticed numerous times mobs would aggro within 1 second of appearing.

    Add 2 seconds of lag to it... and you got 3 seconds total.

    The problem is that all actions are calculated server-side, so for you it's one second, while for the server it's more like 3-5. I do agree they have to give us a bit more time to react, but imho it's a problem of lag...

    Lag is a moot point since the technical aspects of this make no difference, let the SE devs worry about it. The reality is freshly spawned mobs seem to aggro instantly. If there isn't a timer one should be added, if there is a timer the thing should be increased to the point it's actually noticeable.
