Reinstalling the game, 1 hour left, 5 hours down!
Reinstalling the game, 1 hour left, 5 hours down!
ok so i cant even get past 2 seconds after hitting the green enter button in the launcher, after reinstalling. Let it be known that this issue is not on my end, fix your game SE. This was the same message that would pop up after teleporting, this is NOT ok.
Can we talk about reimbursing me for sub time lost that was because of the issue on your guys' end? Every time you guys make a patch, i always have many issues with the game, lost many days due to unplayability due to poor updates.
Why do i have to have someone log into my account just to teleport me to another zone? That is ridiculous.
I just want to play the game, fix the game! There is nothing to fix on my end.

Your issue seems to be a bit different than the others in this thread (still investigating, by the way). I will address it here, but if it gets too complicated, I may ask you to create a new topic as to not sidetrack this one.
When you reinstalled the game, did you delete the the files in the My Documents folder (My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV)? If not, try deleting that and login.
If you are still having trouble, try switching to DirectX 9 mode, update your graphics card drivers and make sure no other programs is running in the background.
We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
Yep, all of those things were done, everything is up to date, fresh installs of everything, its just this patch has rendered the game unplayable. I guess this is the end of the game for me, i cant even log in, let alone play.
The patch isn't the cause of the crash you are getting. For further troubleshooting, I'd recommend creating your own thread so we can better assist you.
Thank you everyone for your replies.
My first thought is when you were disconnected, you were placed somewhere that is more difficult for your connection to reach, but not impossible. Your character may have been put into an area behind a port that your router has blocked, so the first thing may want to try is opening all the ports the game requires (If you have access to a different router/connection, such as at a friend's house, you may find it easier to log in and move your character).
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
▼TCP
54992 through 54994,
55006 through 55007,
55021 through 55040
Your ISP may forward these ports for you.*
If this does not solve the issue, try some of the following options:
Make sure your Anti-virus/Firewall has the appropriate exceptions for the game.
Use a wired connection as opposed to wireless.
Reset your router by turning it off, then back on.
Open the Internet Explorer browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
- Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
- Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
- Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
- Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
- Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
- Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
- Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
- Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
- Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
Please let us know if you are still having issues after this.

I just did every steps in there and still can't get to log on my character. Is there no way our characters could be move out of what seem to be stuck in an instance? The patch isn't the cause of the crash you are getting.
