Honestly at this point I'm with the guys. Give them some nice things to wear. Or hideous monstrosities. Just stop making cheesecake for a while and make more beefcake.

Yes, because these poor indie devs can't understand that if they do a female outfit there should be a male counterpart.
Also consider this is the first time the obligatory lv1 gearset from the patch it's only for one gender, in other patches there is at least male or unisex gear too.
Those outfits can be wear by female characters. This isn't about the style of the gear, Square can make masculine or feminine outfits as they please, and actually I think there is a good balance between both. The issue is that female characters have more options because many masculine outfits can be wear by females too, while feminine outfits can only be wear by female characters.

I've all but given up on any kind of glamour parity. The devs seem pretty set in their patterns at this point. It doesn't seem to matter how much wailing and gnashing of teeth takes place, we get 1) a nice (or at least original) female gender locked glam and 2) some Pants(tm) that are not gender locked but might have a much better model on female characters *cough spring shorts cough*. This time we didn't even get a new pair of Pants(tm)!
"Hello, I'm auditioning for the role of Ser Aymeric de Borel, and I'll be singing Electric Chapel by Lady Gaga"
You could say that SE is trying to cash in on the tendency of people (mostly young, straight men) to spend ridiculous amounts of money on dressing up female avatars when it comes to the overall quality disparity, especially when talking about the cash shop. And I would agree with you.
But the quantity gap is baffling to me. There's no extra money to be made by having more craftable female sets than male. That's just unspoken employee bias becoming evident in the game itself, which is poor form for a game that has a fairly even gender ratio of players.
Some people have said that SE mentioned a male set would be released later... where is that recorded? And is it going to be a male set or another unisex set?
never really bothers me when i'm on my male character.
just mimics real life in my experience. See women in men's clothes all the time but the reverse is exceedingly rare to the point it's a named fetish
Always reminded of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQChkSgPCJ4
And re: real life. Ah yes, real life. Where you walk down a street running into catgirls and dragon waifus, and talk to a huge conscious crystal!
At first I was kinda still supportive towards you.Talking disrespectfull towards hard working devs for not getting your little piece of gear is very childish. Some of you guys will never be satified even if they bring equality towards gear and some will start complaining about something else.Yes, because these poor indie devs can't understand that if they do a female outfit there should be a male counterpart.

I know this will be a very unpopulair opinion.

I have never seen people complain so much when it comes to in-game clothes in all my time playing MMOs geez... Maybe I don't have a problem with it because I don't play FFXIV to play dress up so i'm not that bothered when they release glamour. Also like I said during the 4.3 patch notes reading they said they will add male glamour so just wait.
Male character do not need the following.
They do not need dresses
Bra or panties
things that make them look like they are cross dressing.
They want that stuff pop a fantasia if you wanted to play a male because you liked a male character it doesn't make sense you would want to dress like a female because you are a girl playing a male character.
the excuse I see is cause I like playing male then why do you want to dress like a female? that just ruins the argument.
I have nothing against the way you want to dress that's cool but others on the game they don't wanna see that stuff you could argue the fact and say well that is insensitive to my feelings well goes the same way.
you could say girls get guy gear but it isn't true.
I say both female and male have had equal stuff given to them.
But if the day comes where guys begin dressing fully like a girl in girls outfit I hope I can get a option to shut off glamour.
I know people going to chew me out for this it aint right you are a bad person, I am not a bad guy just don't like seeing that stuff as you might like it that's cool I don't have a issue what you like personally but I don't like it in games I play and yes I know people do try to girl their male characters up but I try to not pay attention and its not that bad but full blown girl stuff no thanks.
But just to clarify.
Some stuff is ok lets say a girl armor is pretty cool and looks well done and would probably look awesome on a male character to I probably wouldn't even care.
but that scrunchy dress you asking to be put on guys that's wayyyyy overboard.
