Pls DO NOT PURCHASE ur char to 60, you have a lvl 60 char but can't play this role right, dungeons will cost much more time, just play and have fun through leveling![]()
First, you cannot purchase a jump potion for Samurai. Furthermore, if you do skip a job to 60, keep in mind this does not include the MSQ. You will have to purchase a separate jump potion for that. For job specifics, it's entirely up to you. I would recommend looking up videos on either. Search for Savage PoV on both and see which job jumps out at you more. Another option is to unlock Palace of the Dead in Gridania. Once you reach floors 51+ you'll be able to play Dragoon at 60 regardless of the job being 60 itself. That way you can see how it feels, and if its rotation suits your preference.
Samurai even with the recent changes many are saying the job should be deleted.
Really though try and level both and play what you enjoy more.
If you do plan on eventually raiding, Dragoon is far better
I recommend just playing your DRG and main story quest to 50-60, then unlock SAM and play both to 70 using the main story and duties to level them up as much as possible. You will get a good feel for what one you prefer. I started a DRG main, but now prefer SAM main. The biggest reason for me for moving to SAM main was the fact that DRG has 1-2 seconds of inability to avoid attacks while jumping, while the SAM has really good movement/avoidance skills once you learn them. You may find one is more fun or easier to play for you. Don't look at the numbers, play for yourself and see what one, if not both, you prefer.
Have fun!
I would recommend Dragoon, it is by far the easiest of the melee to master since its rotations are more straight forward. Samurai in't hard, and neither are Monk or Ninja, but Dragoon is a nice middle ground of work and reward.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
