How're Drg's doing?

I'm looking into leveling my DRG up from 60, and I'm just curious how they're doing now. The last time I played him was back in the middle of HW, and I'm liking the changes that they went through, I'm just curious what kind of place they're at in parties. Every time I come to the forums I always see posts about X class needing more damage, or more utility, or more this or that, and its pretty easy to get a read on where classes stand. It's been a while since I've seen a thread on DRG's though, which leads me to believe that they're either in a good enough place that no one complains about really, or maybe just no one plays that class anymore?

So how're they doing right now?

To make that brd happy, you need the drg.

Then we get into group damage contribution. You think it's ninja with TA. Wrong. Litany+piercing debuffs given to just a bard will outweigh trick. Brd+mch, a drg obliterates TA on contribution.

Nin is actuallying a lot closer to the edge than you'd think other than their eminity abilities. Trick is very strong, but at the cost of their personal damage being so much lower, it's not as powerful to rdps as you'd think. If I ever had to choose between drg/monk or nin/monk, I'd go with drg. It's still close though.

Either way, if you go drg, you will never ever have difficulties being wanted in a group.

That's wrong, actually. Ninja is now interchangeable with Monk in most cases, while DRG is completely irreplaceable so long as a Bard or MCH exists in your party.

Dragoon is a powerhouse right now. It brings moderate pDPS and arguably the highest rDPS due to piercing. Among the melee jobs, it boasts a very rigid rotation that will virtually never deviant, making it easier to develop muscle memory on. If you're aiming to invest a good chunk of time settling into the job, you'll be highly sought after.

I guess you're right. If you take into account how good bard is and how they need Drg to perform optimally, Drg would be the most desired.

Dragoon is a raid god right now because their utilities are too valuable to pass up.
