So these 4.3 "Faerie changes" -_-

While I didn't expect a whole rework for the faeries. I also didn't expect such small changes. Just some minor Fey union adjustments and changing whispering dawn to a ability and giving it 20 potency.

I was honestly expecting at least a replacement for Selene's Silence for something or just anything else that could make her more viable and actually hold a candle to Eos.

Being a Scholar main I'm a tad bit disappointment because I've been wanting to see what these "Faerie changes" were but just ended up being a let down and I can only hope Selene (and maybe Eos) gets some love before long.

Do you guys (and gals) think we will get any meaningful changes to the Faeries anytime soon?

I'm pretty certain given SCH current power level and the overall healer balance we have at this juncture, we won't see any large scale changes to the SCH kit until we get closer to the expansion. They're small in nature but I am personally looking forward to using the fairy changes in practice once they hit as they should alleviate some of the clunkiness to the SCH kit.

Ghishlain already said it, but yes it was unreasonable to expect any major fairy changes mid expansion.
Due to overall balance. In general, it's going to be very interesting to see what they do with Selene, as SCH is not supposed to be a support healer like AST, yet Chain Strategem is arguably more powerful than ASTs inconsistent cards. Do they really need Selene pumping out raid buffs as well?

Keep in mind that we also got the change that makes any command given to the fairy interrupt her current action, so no more waiting for her to finish her current Embrace and hoping your command queued propperly, she now just immediately does what you tell her to. This also means that Silent Dusk is actually usable now, because it's no longer stuck with the variable delay from waiting for Embrace.

Small change, but the effect makes the fairy much more responsive.

Changing a current fairy ability like Silent Dusk isn't happening anytime soon. That is a major adjustment. You won't see anything like that until 5.0 at the earliest unless these patches go past 4.5x and we get a couple more patches between that and the next expansion. And if you read the preliminary notes, you'd also know that nothing like that was happening this patch. Sorry if I sound a little abrasive. It has been a tumultuous week, and it's only Tuesday.

Anywho, hopefully you'll find these minor adjustments favorable in the coming days.

Selene + Chain is already rivalling AST rdps contribution, except SCH also deals 1000 more dps. So ...meh.

That change was also a stealth nerf, since you can no longer pair Whispering Dawn with Rouse for the +40% potency on it, and the +20 potency wasn’t 40% of WD’s original potency, so it’s 20 potency weaker than before. Rouse, like other abilities that increase healing magic potency, do not work with abilities. It makes Rouse not that worthwhile on a SCH, except for using on CD and/or trying to align with Fey Illumination.

Do they really need Selene pumping out raid buffs as well?

To be fair, SCHs have been asking for Selene to be looked at well before Chain was a thing. Outside of Fey Wind and the (very) off-chance you may need to Esuna a raid-wide debuff like Bleed, she is noticably less valuable than Eos.

I’d just like to see more reason to either fairy in a given situation, rather than just in the opener or for speedkills. Selene is supposed to be the “support fairy”, per her description.
