game keeps locking my computer

hello, i recently got back into ff14 and the first few days it all seemed well but now it just randomly starts freezing my computer (blue screen, monitors would turn a solid color and freeze or just freeze in place with the game locked in a frame with no sound). its kinda hard to describe when it would freeze as it just would do it randomly in game (sometimes it would freeze if i did actions like leave a party). temperatures seem stable and i have updated the drivers.

my specs are
radeon rx 480
16 gigs of ddr3 ripjaws
sabertooth 990fx r2.0
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W

I would recommend starting with hardware diagnostics.

I had a machine that would do the solid-color freeze thing before, and it ended up being an issue with the video board (hardware; updating/reinstalling drivers didn't help). From what I remember of my research at the time, those kind of symptoms seem to commonly be symptomatic of a fault in the video hardware.

Freezing while stuck on a single frame, in turn, can often be a symptom of overheating or driver issues, but since you've already covered those 2 bases, I would suspect the hardware itself.

The AMD cards have memory leaks. There's not a solution unless you know how to code drivers. AMD seems to not be in too big of a hurry to fix issues with this game. This has been going on for years. Using DX9 will buy you more time before these issues happen.

Had similar issues, are you over clocking? You could also try switching to Display Port or higher, If your using lower than a display port you will get constant crashing. Also is your operating system a 32 bit or 64bit?

When exactly did this start happening? Do you recall anything updating/changing on your PC that coincides with this?

If your whole PC is restarting, my first thought is a power issue. What kind of power supply do you have?

Do you happen to be overclocking any part of your PC?
